The script is loosely based on a 1973 pulp novel, Blue Murder, in the Michael Shayne series, by prolific writer Robert Terrall, who used the pen name Brett Halliday for those books.
Misty Mountains:
How do you like my car, Big Boy?
When they arrive to the house party, Holland March goes to the bar to grab a drink. In the background there is a bottle of gin, which the label has been partially removed. Because that bottle has an unique shape, plus the remaining of a bit of the label, you can see that is Beefeater 24, a gin created in 2008.
In the censored version, bikinis were put on for many of the nudity scenes. The opening did not include a center spread and the naked body of Misty Mountains.
