At the pilgrims office, Kerkeling's name is filled in to the Compostela as "Hans Peter Kerkeling". The Compostela is always being filled out with the pilgrim's name written in Latin, which in Kerkelings case would be: "Joannem Petrum Kerkeling".
The pilgrims office in Santiago as displayed in the movie was not in operation in 2001. Back then, when Kerkeling walked the Camino, the office would have looked differently.
Errors in geography
In the movie, Kerkeling passes the church ruin of San Antón and afterwards the village of Santo Domingo de la Calzada. On the Camino Francés en route to Santiago, Santo Domingo de la Calzada comes first, then San Antón.
Close to the end of the movie, Kerkeling and his comrades are seen walking through an eucalyptus grove. When he steps out of it, all of a sudden he spots the towers of the Santiago cathedral in the distance, apparently for the first time. There is no such point on the Camino where it's possible to watch the towers upon exiting an eucalyptus grove.
While Kerkeling speaks Spanish fluently in real life, in the movie he (or rather the actor) keeps on saying "por favore" when it should be "por favor" ("please").
