In a perfect union of style and action, two of Hollywood’s most charismatic stars, Henry Cavill and Jackie Gyllenhaal, will join forces in filmmaker Guy Ritchie’s directorial, In The Grey. The trailer of the film, which is set to hit theaters in early 2025, was released by Lionsgate Films during CinemaCon 2024 and is already garnering a lot of hype.
Mexican star Eiza Gonzalez in Baby Driver
Adding more glamor to the narrative will be Mexican sensation Eiza Gonzalez, who is currently the talk of the town with her latest series, Three Body Problem. Working for the second time in a Ritchie film will surely be a big feather in the cap for Gonzalez, who faced bitter disappointment a few years ago when she narrowly missed out on playing this cult DC character.

Glen Powell is lacing up his sneakers.
The “Top Gun: Maverick” star will lead the cast of Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man,” taking on a role played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1987 cult favorite. The dystopian action film is based on a novel of the same name by horror maestro Stephen King, which he first published under a pseudonym, Richard Bachman.
Wright, best known for directing the satiric zombie film “Shaun of the Dead,” will also produce the picture along with Simon Kinberg and Nira Park. The filmmaker, whose work overflows with style and wit, most recently made the psychological horror film “Last Night in Soho.” His other credits include “Hot Fuzz,” “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and “Baby Driver.”
Powell is on a hot streak lately and has found himself in demand by many studios who believe he has the kind of charisma that could make him a major star.

Oscar-winning Chilean director Sebastián Lelio has wrapped production on the newly announced musical film “The Wave,” inspired by the mass protests and university rallies that took place during Chile’s so-called “feminist May” movement in 2018.

Amid the excitement of protest marches, she joins her friends in dancing and singing, revisiting her own experiences of mistreatment. But as she gathers the courage to share her story, she unexpectedly becomes a central figure in the movement. A car crash interview with a delusional prince, a new series adaptation featuring Patricia Highsmith’s most infamous creation, the second part of Zack Snyder’s pricey space opera and a paranormal detective show set within Neil Gaiman’s celebrated Sandman universe are among the big titles hitting Netflix in April.
Debuting April 4 is Ripley, Netflix’s glossy new take on Highsmith’s 1955 crime novel The Talented Mr. Ripley. Fresh from the critical acclaim he received for All of Us Strangers, Irish actor Andrew Scott will be inhabiting the role of Tom Ripley in an adaptation that will be screened in black-and-white. The eight-episode series also stars Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf, Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood, and acting newcomer Eliot Sumner (son of Sting and Trudie Styler) as Freddie Miles. Gonzalez has been in the film and television industry for years now. She has come a long way since her lead role in Sueña conmigo, an Argentinian production from Nickelodeon. As she made her way into Hollywood, she quickly realized that she would have to fight for her roles in more ways than one.

After getting her start on British television, James first became known to American audiences in 2012 when she joined the cast of “Downton Abbey” as the love-struck Lady Rose MacClare, a role that earned James two Screen Actors Guild Awards as a member of the show’s ensemble cast.
The actress quickly followed up that television triumph with one on the big screen in the title role of Disney’s live-action “Cinderella,” directed by Kenneth Branagh, which clearly proved her appeal to audiences of all ages. One of the most reliable screen presences in recent years, James showed enormous range in choosing her projects, from such crowd pleasers as “Baby Driver” and “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” to more intimate films as “The Dig” and “Little Woods,...

Comic book fans are all in anticipation of what the developing Dcu will bring to the table following the downfall of the old franchise. Thus, as David Corenswet was first rumored, but later confirmed to be playing the role of Clark Kent in the upcoming Superman, actress Eiza González was speculated to become the next Wonder Woman in cinema.

Several fans were hoping to see the actress take the role of one of The Trinity of DC Comics, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she had already lost the role of Catwoman in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman to Zoë Kravitz, and in the future, she might not be playing a comic book character for a long time.

South by Southwest is a festival like none other. Spread across the bustling streets of Downtown Austin, the convergence event truly has something for everyone.
South by Southwest, better known as SxSw, is a tech conference meets music festival meets film festival. With hundreds of films, bands, startups, and established brands all over the city, the energy is unrivaled.
This year is no different as thousands prepare to arrive at the Texas capitol this week.
I will be lucky enough to attend this year’s festival for a whole week and the film lineup is one of the strongest in years. SxSw is a great combination of established, anticipated films mixed with independent films with massive potential to be the next big thing.
In the past some of the competition films that have premiered at the festival have been Short Term 12, Peanut Butter Falcon, Tiny Furniture. Krisha, and more.

Creating eye-catching movie posters is an art. In the past, we’ve all seen some gnarly one-sheets that miss the mark due to formulaic layouts or studio interference. Thankfully, today’s new poster for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (shown below) is on target, with cast members looking cool, dangerous, and ready for action. In the explosive poster, members of the film’s murder squad brandish weapons in preparation to punch holes in the enemy, and they’re not about to take any prisoners. The poster implies a fun, action-filled romp with Ritchie’s flare for ensemble dynamics.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, courtesy of Lionsgate:
Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by...

Lionsgate has acquired domestic rights to the Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lily James and Himesh Patel comedy “Greedy People.”
The film explores what happens when the eccentric residents of a small, picturesque island town are faced with a sensational murder and the discovery of $1 million next to the body. This sparks a series of increasingly bad decisions that do a number on the peace and tranquility of the community.
“’Greedy People’ is a hugely entertaining crime thriller in every way,” said Allison Lynch, Lionsgate’s director of acquisitions and co-productions. “Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lily James, and Himesh Patel lead an incredible cast through twists and turns that range from the hilarious to the horrific – and the movie always keeps you guessing.”
The film’s starry ensemble also features Uzo Aduba (“Orange is the New Black”), Tim Blake Nelson (“The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”), Jim Gaffigan (“Chappaquiddick”) and Simon Rex (“Red Rocket”).

The deal is said to be a “high-seven figure pact, nearing $10M.”
Eiza González (Baby Driver) and Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”) will star in Ash, alongside Iko Uwais (The Raid: Redemption), Beulah Koale, and Kate Elliott.

Exclusive: In the biggest acquisition to emerge so far at the nascent EFM, we understand Amazon Prime Video has sewn up a deal with XYZ for international rights to Eiza González (Baby Driver) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) sci-fi thriller Ash, the sophomore feature from producer, rapper and filmmaker Flying Lotus (Kuso).
We hear this is a high-seven figure pact, nearing $10M. Talks had been underway for a little while and the deal closed up this week.
Gonzalez will play a woman who wakes up on a distant planet and finds the crew of her space station viciously killed. She must decide whether she can trust the man (Paul) sent to rescue her. Iko Uwais, Beulah Koale, and Kate Elliott also star. The movie is in post-production.
As we previously revealed, Flying Lotus is composing an original score for the movie, which is based on an original screenplay by Jonni Remmler.

Though it’s based on a 2005 movie of the same name, Prime Video’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith is something that’s increasingly rare these days: an honest-to-goodness TV show. The Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane-created spy thriller understands the required rhythms of its medium very well. Each episode presents a self-contained chapter within the dangerous marriage of John (Glover) and Jane Smith (Maya Erskine) while also subtly forwarding their overall story.
The commitment to the usual TV format also means that Mr. and Mrs. Smith gets to introduce one hell of a roster of guest stars. Save for its finale, every episode of this show features at least one stupendously talented and famous guest star. If you’re wondering who each of these guest stars are or where you’ve previously seen them: don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. What follows is a list of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith cast,...

Mr. & Mrs. Smith definitely didn’t surpass expectations, it mostly left us with question marks for expressions because of how lackluster the show really was. I suppose you could say there are some good parts; you’ve got beautiful sets and some fun fashion choices, but most importantly, a bunch of cameos that are meant to enhance the show considering how dull it is otherwise. Not to say that Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are incapable of holding our attention, but it’s probably a mix of the writing and the pacing of this show that had me completely bored by the end of it. And, no, even these incredible special appearances did not pique my interest in any way. However, they do add a little bit of fun, even if briefly, to the mostly tedious show. Mr. & Mrs. Smith follows spies in this new spyverse, where there is...

The first trailer for Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare debuted today.
Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British Sas and modern Black Ops warfare.
Directed and co-written for the screen by Guy Ritchie, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare stars Henry Cavill, Eiza González (Baby Driver), Alan Ritchson (TV’s Reacher...

Radio Silence Productions and Project X Entertainment, which were behind the revival of the Scream franchise with Scream (2022) and last year’s Scream VI, have formed a joint financing pact with studio MRC to fund and produce horror and thriller features, Variety reports. As part of this deal, the companies are aiming to produce two or three genre movies every year.
Radio Silence and Project X also collaborated on Ready or Not and the upcoming Universal vampire movie Abigail (formerly known as Dracula’s Daughter). As for MRC, that studio has been behind such films as Knives Out, Devil, Baby Driver, The Blackening, Saltburn, American Fiction, and Self Reliance.
Radio Silence members Chad Villella, Tyler Gillett, and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin provided the following statement: “To be able to formalize our alliance with Project X and work with a studio in MRC that champions original and fresh films couldn’t be more exciting to us as storytellers.

Zorro and Expats are the big shows coming to Prime Video in January. The former is what Amazon are calling a “bold reinterpretation” of the classic hero El Zorro for 2024. Starring Miguel Bernardeau as Diego de la Vega and Renata Notni as Lolita Marquez, it’s definitely an intriguing-sounding action-adventure series, with a ten-episode first season based on the iconic character originally created by Johnston McCulley all the way back in 1919.
Meanwhile, upcoming drama series Expats is based on the bestselling 2016 novel The Expatriates by Janice Y. K. Lee, and follows “the vibrant lives of a close-knit expatriate community” in Hong Kong. Nicole Kidman has been known for picking the right kind of shows to lead in the past, so let’s hope this is another banger for the actress, who is also on board as an executive producer here.

Berlin has been the talk of the town ever since the show was released on Netflix. Shows of this genre bring back a lot of memories that allow the audience to stay on the edge of their seat and soak in the stories of the crime, which mostly glorify them. Some films are comedy heist dramas that justify the act, but there is a reason why the word ‘comedy’ is part of the genre’s name. Here is a list of movies you can watch if you like Berlin, the latest Netflix spin on the very popular Money Heist.

"Smokey and the Bandit" was a delightful '70s action-comedy movie; it spawned two sequels, the first of which was pretty damn good. For a modern audience looking back, the series was also remarkably star-studded. It featured beloved late actors like Burt Reynolds, Jackie Gleason, Patrick McCormick, and Mike Henry, most of whom are still fondly remembered over forty years after the first movie came out. Although the series itself isn't quite as well-known among today's young viewer as we'd probably prefer, most of its cast certainly is.
But what about the actors in the series who are still alive today? What are they up to? Let's check in on the lives and careers of the remaining "Smokey and the Bandit" cast, and see how they're holding up. More than two decades ago, "Chicken Run" clucked its way onto the movie scene and became a runaway hit. The stop-motion animation movie was clever and strange, and unlike any of its contemporaries at the time (CGI-heavy flick "Dinosaur" and wacky Disney one-off "The Emperor's New Groove" bookended it at the year's box office). "Chicken Run" was also a surprisingly rich text, a movie that included plenty of moments of parody and humor meant to appeal to adults as well as kids.
The first movie functioned as a riff on "The Great Escape," the 1963 war film starring Steve McQueen, but the new sequel film, "Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget," chose a different parody path. In an interview with /Film, director Sam Fell confirmed that "Dawn of the Nugget" was influenced by heist films, so much so that it earned a pointed nickname during production. Jamie Foxx was born Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967. He changed his name when he began his career in stand-up comedy and chose “Foxx” to honor one of his comedic idols, Redd Foxx. He picked the first name “Jamie” because he noticed that female comics were usually given earlier times on open mic nights and he thought the androgynous name of Jamie might get him onstage earlier in the evening.
Foxx’s love of comedy began early. By third grade he was already doing stand up for his elementary school classes.
