        • Trivia

        • Goofs
When Shimajiro and Nikki dive underwater riding on the baby whale, they are shown without their scuba diving gear. How is it possible they can go underwater without breathing. If they tried this in real life, they would both likely drown as they are mammals who breath air.
        • Quotes

          Shimajiro's Mother: Shimajiro.

        • Alternate versions
In the original 2014 Japanese version of Shimajiro and the Whale's Song, the original opening title is called Gekijouban Shimajirou no wao!: Shimajirou to kujira no uta and the opening title card shows Japanese symbols. Also, when the characters like Hermit Crab puppet talk about megaphones there are no live action multiple pictures in the original Japanese version and the end credit names are shown in Japanese symbols except for the composer Daudi Joseph.
