The first thing I'm gonna say about this title before going any further is this: Amazing graphics don't make a game awesome!

That being said, the game starts just as Black Flag did, directly with the story of the main character without any trace of the story that ended so abruptly in AC III. It's just like the Final Destination franchise, that as the movies came up they had more than little connection with the original story just the same plot over and over again. The same case is here. The story is not bad, but the beginning and the end are just the same themes that were seen in the Assassin's Creed series over and over again. The father or mother or mentor of the main character dies at the beginning, and that turns him to the path of the Assassin's, has been done before, and as strange as this may sound this series is starting to look more like the "Doctor Who" series and what Moffat has done with that, repeating the same ideas and themes over and over again, without adding anything new to the product, something original. And the main thing that made the other games good was the story involving the pieces of Eden, the confrontation between the Templars and the Assassins, and the story of the ones who came before and all the mysteries surrounding that story, other unanswered questions of the previous games. It's just plain simple that Ubisoft is making the games of this series since IV Black Flag only for money which is painful for the true fans of the Assassin's Creed series. The only good thing and also new was the love between Arno and Elise which ended tragically maybe just as this game was: a tragic result. People who say that this game can be compared to the story of Ezio or Connor, are out of their minds, those stories were amazingly original and captivating, while here all the story is a personal vendetta of Arno against the killer or killers of Mister De la Serre. There were also some very convenient coincidences like Bellec somehow knew Arno's father and that they both were assassins and that Arno was imprisoned in the same prison as Bellec. It's just too unrealistic.

Having said that about the story, the gameplay was modified and improved but also has some failures like the air assassination where sometimes Arno jumps all the way down to the ground and then assassinate the thugs, or the way Arno falls down sometimes landing directly on his feet, maximum on his feet and hands, but in reality you sometimes roll over when falling from high places. What was good were the thing that guards were following your last seen position or the running very real and specific for each person. The killing was also good and original and realistic with that optional finishing kill. Another good addition to the gameplay was the scenes Arno saw after killing every target revealing the last memories of the deceased, finding out more about the Grand Master in the process.

The graphics at last were amazing at some points although there were moments when they looked like cardboard shaped like human, one of them being the last scenes where Arno went to the graveyard with a flower and then the scene with him on top of a tower at the end and many more scenes during the game.

All that being said, it almost makes me sad to see that such a promising story of a game with such amazing graphics is ruined by catastrophic writing that mainly copied everything that was good with the previous series. In the end I for one don't expect that the story of Juno and all the mysteries behind her and her kind would be explained any time soon, 'cause Ubisoft only cares for money now. This is why I hope Assassin's Creed the movie will correct all the mistakes the game developers have made since Black Flag.

Assassin's Creed Unity is a breakthrough in the Assassin's Creed world of games. I did not know how it was going to turn out before the game came out, but I loved it the moment I opened that box and popped the CD into my Playstation 4.

Almost all of the Assassin's Creed games are known for three things: Its vast story lines, the graphics, and the unique gameplay.

I believe that Assassin's Creed Unity's storyline was one of my favorites of the entire series. A good story immerses the gamers and makes them feel like they are really part of the game. With the start of Arno's determination to use the Assassins' training for his own selfish desires (like revenge) to the epiphany he has as he realizes how he stabbed his friends in the back, The gamers learn to grow as people along with Arno. I would give the storyline about 2.5 out of my 8 stars for this.

The Graphics are compelling! All of the Assassin's Creed games exceeded the gamer's already immense expectations since the very first game published in 2007! Yes, there are a few bugs, but I believe that great feel that these graphics provide are essential in these next- generation game consoles. Because of the bugs though, this sections only gives my rating one extra point of my 8 stars.

The gameplay in this game is by far the most impressive aspect. The game developers made a brand new game engine to make these games. It was extremely realistic, and very intuitive. Another set of developers decided to make those aspects even better be recreating the game engine, including a stealth component. They hit this out of the ball park, but in any game, there is always room for improvement. I will confidently say that the gameplay makes up the bulk of my rating, getting a whopping 4.5 stars out of 8.

The reason that Assassin's Creed Unity has only 8 stars instead of 10, though, is because there were a lot of glitches and/or bugs in the game. Sometimes, enemies would appear to have jelly legs or arms that stretched and bent in weird angles after they died. Also, the online co-op feature that this game presents, allowing you to play with others to achieve goals, was not very concrete. It turned into a race to the finish instead of using actual teamwork.
  • Without doubt my favourite story and one of the best locations to be set in for sure unfortunately the overly glitchy gameplay the worst of all the series makes it hard to love the game any further.

I've finished Unity after so many years. The story had a great beginning with the wink to Shay Cormac and the sentimental attachment that is quickly established with the grown-up Arno and his beloved Élise. But then the story gets lost into the French Revolution which, personally, it is not what I am looking for in a video game. Too much Robespierre, Napoleon, Desirée, and De Sade, and too few Arno and Élise. Ubisoft succeeded at developing two amazing characters but failed to give them enough action. It would have been great to be able to play as Élise for some missions too. I guess they realized that and fixed it in the following games.

At the start of the last sequence, it is obvious that Ubisoft is going to kill Élise. What a waste for such a strong and well-designed character. All of a sudden Arno becomes the leader of the brotherhood and seems to seek refuge or friendship in Napoleon.

Story aside, the game mesmerized me with the level of detail of Paris. Exploring the city was usually more satisfying than fulfilling missions. Indeed, there were too many side missions and collectives to be able to enjoy them. Simply too much, and too repetitive.

I also found a bit frustrating the constant sounds triggered by collecting something, or finding a side mission or checking the map, etc. They tended to ruin the atmosphere of Paris. Is it so difficult to let the player activate or mute those sounds?

The city is also famous for its underground, and I was disappointed to know that the several catacombs were not interconnected as in AC3's Boston. The map could have been much more useful and immersive; maybe with street names and markers for important places related to missions, like De Sade hideout, Napoleon's palace and so on. I feel that the city was greater than the game itself, as if Ubisoft couldn't develop a game at the same level as the city that they had recreated.

I am normally not very critical about bugs but in this case all the glitches related to the NPC destroy any magic that Paris could have. Sometimes there is just too many NPC and it is not strange to see some of them walking on top of streetlights or trying to traverse a tree.

The story is great. There is a wide variety of missions and thank god not may tailing mission. Also visually it's stunning. Revelitionary France is really cool.

Visually pretty typical of Assassin's Creed games with a big emphasis on the architecture, which is really well done. A bit lacking in variety, though, when compared to earlier games which alternated city vs countryside or compared to Black Flag which had the various island and jungle scenes to mix it up.

Gameplay is pretty smooth. Sometimes the auto-assist goes too far (so you jump on and climb things without meaning to, because as you run past the auto-assist assumes you're trying to climb, even when you're not really that close to an object or wall). But it does make climbing when you want to fairly quick and easy. And combat is well designed.

Gadgets are a real highlight. I didn't use them enough in the early game, but later realised they make a lot of difficult challenges much more achievable and there's some reasonable variety. And the gear system adds a bit of an RPG level-up feel to the game that earlier Assassin's Creeds never quite achieved.

But then, there's nothing exciting or different and the story is *very* straightforward and lacking in any depth. On top of that, the modern-day aspect that was one of the key things that made earlier games so awesome is a complete joke here. It'd have been better if they dropped it altogether, because the little here and there just makes it feel forced and draws attention to the fact that it was so poorly considered.

And the collectibles thing has gone waaaaay overboard. When I finished the game, putting in quite a bit of effort to not miss any nearby chests and other secrets during missions, and ensuring 100% sync each mission, I looked at the map and had barely collected 10% of all the junk lying around. Assassin's Creed was always bad for that, but it's so overdone now that it makes collecting anything feel meaningless.

A perfectly fine time killer, but too bland to really pull you in in any way.
  • Unity was totally broken when it game out. It had glitches that would haunt your nightmares, making it unplayable which made fans upset after all the hype. Ubisoft listened and not only fixed it, they gave the DLC for free. Unity is a game that took the cinematic side of Assassin's Creed and pushed it more towards that. Unity is solely based on story and what a story it is. This game gives a unique look at the Assassin's and the Templars showing you that both sides think they're right and that both are not as good as they may think they are. I was fixed from beginning to end in a very unique experience in an amazingly designed map that still holds up in 2020 and makes some newer games look bad. If you haven't played Unity, you should.

The podcast I listened to while beating this game was really good.
  • Graphics:- This game is a technological masterpiece, with stunning look of redefined Paris with all places historically accurate. Most of those building looks accurately similar to original at present.

Story:- This is Hisotrical Action Romance in Paris. Fight for your love along with French history.

Character-Main Protogonist:- Main character ArnoVictorDorian is fun type Assassin and will make you smile with his innocence.

Age rating:- Mild romance (only kissing-twice) Some common bad words.

My review:- This is a awsome game in terms of graphic as well as gameplay. THIS GAME HAD SOME BUG ISSUES AT THE LAUNCH BUT IT IS NOW WORKS VERY WELL AND ITS SOLID.The story is not very deep but completely covers enough romance, dreadful revenge,Stunning visuals effects,Adventurous Actions,

Parkour around Paris with Arno as he can do all realistic climbing up and down. THE CUTSCENE AND SYNCHRONIZATION TRANSITIONS ARE INTESCE AND INNOVATIVE AND EPIC. Worth to take a leap in the series Assassins Creed.
  • The video game and the representation of the France during this period was quiet accurate i enjoyed it. And if you dont like the assassin creed story, like myself, you will enjoy the different quest and the way you can explore different region of the game. Pretty good overall.
  • This game is the peak of assassins creed. The story is great and the parkour is very polished. When I finished it I felt a need for more. If you are looking for an assassins creed game to play if your bored of other games this is just the one. Not to long but long enough to give an amazing experience.
  • Alright let me start with, this is a good game. People say it has glitches but I can assure you that most of them have been patched in updates. Anyways, this game is a genuine good Assassin's Creed game that makes you feel like an actual Assassin. The game play with swords and guns and stuff is great, and feels amazing. The combat is top tier with no frame lags at all on my console (series x). The biggest flaw in my opinion though, is our main protagonist because MY GOD is he an idiot. Our main character is a guy named Arno, who wants to like expose the true powers of the French Revolution or something and it is not the most interesting sort of story, and Arno does not make it any better. I just feel like he has no emotion whatsoever and he feels like he's an AI. He does have some character depth though, I did feel sympathy for him when his dad died early on but he just isn't a character than you feel for like Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption II. But the best part of the game other than the combat and graphics, is this is the main multiplayer Assassin's Creed game. You can play co op with your friends via playstation plus or xbox live gold is a ground breaker for Assassin's Creed and it's such a shame they didn't add multiplayer to all the other games. Overall I recommend Assassin's Creed Unity if you wanna try one of the Assassin's Creed games out or if your a die hard fan or if you liked black flag.

Just when I thought the Assassin's Creed series was going someone special after Black Flag and now that thought has faded away.

Assassin's Creed: Unity was another game in 2014 that was way over hyped. But for once I actually understood why, I mean Black Flag did well and that game got so many positive ratings from people and like every year Ubisoft has to rush out another game to keep the love coming , and Unity blows my mind, not be the game graphs or the story and characters, actually it blows my mind how unfinished this game really is.

The main character of the game "Arno", is basically like Conner from Creed 3. I think those two have a lot in common, I mean they both boring, shallow, uninteresting and flat out douche bags. I didn't really give a fuss about his revenge story that's been done before and it's already getting tried by now. Arno's character ark was like watching a old dead tree trying to act for the sake of it.

Now let's talk about the graphs in the game and I got to say the graphs in the background looked really pretty and I can see a lot of time and effort went into that, but I think the time and effort only went to the graphs and nothing else, because character effect's keep getting all buggy and it's the same with everything else around me. People falling through the ground, buildings acting up on me and people teleporting to different places out of nowhere. It's a mess and some of the graphs looked extremely unfinished.

The action is okay, nothing really special just the basic action from the past Creed series.

Overall Unity is a buggy, laughably unfinished mess. It's a real same, this game could have been pretty fantastic revenge story, but the game problems do hold it back and the cracks do show in this one.

Assassin's Creed: Unity is ambitious and a fresh overhaul for the series transitioning to a new era of presentation. But it's a rough transition at best.

The story, while interesting at first, kind of starts to feel cluttered and all over the place at the end. Plot threads don't have time to breathe and just go all over the place. The characters are also some of the least compelling that we've seen in a while. Our two lead characters, while decent, could've been more. And while there are some memorable characters and great performances, the story still ends up feeling messy.

The gameplay sees the biggest overhaul and is one of my biggest issues with the game. The new movement system is meant to feel fluid and polished, but it presents more troubles than it does improvements. It looks fluid, but it doesn't feel so. The parkour is great, for the most park. But the combat feels sluggish and unresponsive. In addition to the sluggish combat, the game also has a gear system of sorts, which also adds to the frustration of combat.

It might just be me, but after playing all the previous AC games, Unity just doesn't feel good to play compared to the Americas Saga.

At least the sandbox/open world that we're given is mostly fun to traverse and explore. It's a well-designed world with lots of interesting content.

Overall, Unity is decent and kind of frustrating. Easily my least favourite game in the series due to its clunkiness and messy story.
  • Just found that the story is one of the most intrigating of all AC

I've played all the assassins creed games over the years except Rogue. I always avoided Unity because of the problems when released. But I tried it recently and I was pleasantly surprised. OK there's some bugs still there but it doesn't ruin the enjoyment of the game. The pros outweigh the cons. I loved the story , plus the look and atmosphere of revolutionary Paris is amazing. Its very stealth based which I loved and the combat system is exactly the way it should be in an assassins creed game.

It's a shame the release in 2014 was so bad it tainted Unity's reputation. I liked the games that came after Unity ,but I honestly believe that this was the last great assassins creed game. If it wasn't for some bugs still there I'd score it 10 out of 10, and as a regular player of this series I don't say that lightly. I enjoyed it that much and I wanted more when I finished it. The DLC is free and is decent enough.

Mirage has just been released and I hope it's like this. If you haven't tried it yet, go ahead. I very much enjoyed it.

Let's address the elephant in the room, Yes the game had bugs and yes at times I wanted to rage quit because after climbing up reaching almost the top rather than jumping up Arno Jumps off falls and DIES. I agree it was a buggy mess at one point and I did hate it for that but oh my god isn't the graphics and story soo good.

The Shakespearian story of Arno & Elise was truly amazing and they are probably the best AC couple ever. I was truly heartbroken experiencing the tragic ending and if i did feel that then that means the story that they wanted to tell did work and worked so well.

The Late 1700 Paris and the people in there are beautifully designed and rendered, the world I immersed in was truly wonderful to play and something hard to leave behind.

With that being said I like to say, personally for me Pros outweigh the cons and I did enjoy this game.
  • People who are making excuses for Unity probably have never tried the PC version. Ubisoft didn't even make an effort to release any update that would fix the glitches, lag spikes, animation errors, unsynced voice dialogs, etc. Unity is like an injured soldier left forgotten in battlefield. The last original AC of its kind is treated as if it was a buried toy.

Soldiers are horrendously placed over the map, it feels like the person who made the map didn't even try to play a round of Unity. Sword fights are extremely tiring so obviously players prefer the stealth approach, which is also broken as enemies can easily detect movements from kilometers away.

The story is pretty much bellow average and that epic trailer is just about the co-op missions which "shockingly" is unavailable due to connection errors.

    1/10
    Trash
Straight trash of a game. I'm slowly working my way through the Assassin's Creed series, and this is my first time playing Unity. This game is the WORST of the series so far. The gameplay mechanics were worse than even the first of the series, before they became more refined. To go from Black Flag/Rogue to this is pure incompetence. Climbing and battles are so incredibly bad it's more frustrating than fun. The only part of the ENTIRE GAME THAT I enjoyed were the Murder Mystery sections. The rest is garbage. The story is okay, but just watch a YouTube video of the story and skip playing this game entirely. I really hope the next games are better than this.
