| Short, Biography
Legendary Z-film director Edward D. Wood, Jr., attempts to advance his own film career while resurrecting the fame of has-been horror star Bela Lugosi.
This short film, made eight years before Tim Burton's "Ed Wood," is based on the true-life Hollywood adventures of actor Bela Lugosi and bad-film master director Edward D. Wood, Jr. Co-written, produced and directed by Scott Allen Nollen (auteur of the "PLAN" series, inspired by Wood's infamous "Plan 9 from Outer Space" ) and Barton Aikens, then film students at the University of Iowa, "Ed and Bela" also features other communications and literature students, includes Robert P. Girardi (as Tony McCoy, who appears in Wood's "Bride of the Monster" ), later to become a successful novelist. This 21-minute film is just as funny as Burton's film, yet far less offensive.
