Charles Sobhraj, the serial killer who became the subject of the series The Serpent, was released from jail back in December. Now that he has had time to settle into domestic life in Paris, Sobhraj has established himself as something a little less slippery than his nickname: a prolific author and spotlight hog.
Due to his age and health, Charles Sobhraj was released from a Nepali jail after spending nearly 20 years behind bars. Sobhraj was serving time for the murders of two people, although he has 12 confirmed murders, with estimates putting the potential number as high as 30. After his release, Charles Sobhraj moved to Paris. It’s there that he lives today, writing an autobiography called “Moi, le Serpent”, released in February. He has also marked himself as a talk show guest, appearing on a couple of French shows, evidently always with his lawyer nearby. A recent piece on Air Mail stated,...

The death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput is still under investigation, with new developments cropping up every day. Meanwhile, several filmmakers have announced projects based on the life and death of the late actor.
The situation reminds us of the fact that Bollywood is always quick to capture a slice of reality for its fiction screen.
Looking at the real life deaths and/or crime for screenplays is not a new trend, with films like "Talvar", "Black Friday", "No One Killed Jessica", and "Main Aur Charles" being but a few cases in point. But the race to get the titles registered for an incident that is still under investigation is unprecedented.

Almost 19 years after working together in Monsoon Wedding, filmmaker Mira Nair has found a "suitable boy" in acclaimed actor Randeep Hooda for a new web series that she is working on. According to a source in the know, Randeep will be a part of Nair's eight-episode adaptation of Vikram Seth's "A Suitable Boy".
"Yes, it's true I am working with Mira after almost 19 years and looking forward to it. It's a bit early to speak more about the series or my role," Randeep told Ians.
The actor and the New York-based filmmaker had last put their creative forces together for the 2001 film Monsoon Wedding, which depicted romantic involvements during a traditional Punjabi Hindu wedding in Delhi.
The adaptation of "A Suitable Boy", one of the longest novels ever published, was first announced by BBC in 2017 as the first period drama by the production to feature an entirely non white cast.

At one point in this jigsaw puzzle that often leaves us….well, puzzled, Randeep Hooda playing Charles Sobhraj turns us to comment, ‘The escape should be so spectacular that a movie should be made about it.’
Well, surprise surprise. That’s what the talented director Prawaal Raman has done.
Raman attempts to piece together the seductive life of Charles Sobhraj. It’s an uphill task. And one that required reams of rigorous research, an actor who could define and own Sobhraj’s seductive charms and a certain detachment from Sobhraj’s scheming intellect to ensure we don’t get sucked into his deceptions.
This detachment is achieved in the plot by making the Delhi cop Amod Kanth who nabbed Sobhraj, the hero of the show. Not that Sobhraj plays the villain. But yes, his cool quotient, conveyed by Randeep Hooda in rationed doses, is ruthlessly challenged and thwarted by Adil Hussain...

Maverick actor Randeep Hooda who is all set to showcase his acting chops in one of the most anticipated biopics releasing this year, Main Aur Charles, reportedly went miles to perfect his look and voice.

The official trailer of Randeep Hooda and Richa Chadda starrer crime-thriller-drama “Main Aur Charles” has been out. The trailer is very interesting and you should not miss it at any cost, after all, we are going to watch such fantastic crime thriller after a very long time. (Last thriller that I loved was Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi starrer “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai”). The film is directed by Prawaal Raman and produced by Raju Chadha, Amit Kapoor and Vikram Khakhar.
The film revolves around Charles Shobhraj, a French serial killer of Vietnamese and Indian origin, and how he encountered by Indian police. The trailer shows Charles’ manipulative, charming, enigmatic, mysterious, intelligence, hypnotic and dangerous personality in a very good way. Randeep Hooda is playing the role of Charles and he is looking superb as the enigmatic con man and a vicious killer in the trailer.

Randeep Hooda, who is always known for his love of horses and equestrian sports, has again bagged two golds and one silver at the National Dressage Competition held at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course.
While his accolades as a sportsman seem to be increasing, Hooda seems to be scaling new heights, clearly it has been a proud moment for the actor. Asking him about the achievement, we were told, “Ladies are fickle, but my horses never let me down!”
With his sense of charm and humour, it seems doubtful that ladies will be turning their mind away from him, doesn’t it?
Randeep will soon be seen as Charles in his upcoming film Main Aur Charles and Deepa Mehta’s Beeba Boys.

With the ongoing campaign 'Dark Is Beautiful' gaining momentum, many actors and actresses like Kangna Ranaut and Esha Gupta have denied endorsement offers of fairness products. In fact, rumours of Ranbir Kapoor too refusing such deals were doing the rounds of late. However, now, Randeep Hooda has turned down an offer to endorse a fairness cream. Known for his well toned body and rugged looks, Randeep Hooda recently expressed that he doesn't believe in the obsession with fairness and that men should be tall, dark and handsome. He also claimed the ideology of 'beauty being defined with fair skin' as discriminatory and that despite being offered a huge amount for the deal; he was not willing to sign it. However, Randeep Hooda also maintained that he wouldn't judge others who are involved in these commercials as he states that it is their choice to do the advertisement that they want.
