I wish they made more movies like this. Unpredictable, funny, well acted and directed.
  • Roku has this as funeral day 2018, but its in imdb as 2016. Scott (jon weinberg, who also directed ! ) thinks he has found a lump on his gonads. His friend ken recently died of cancer, so now he's a hypochondriac. Scott doesn't think he can go to the funeral, due to anxiety. He even quits his job. It's a bit existential.... it gets kind of weird. His "friend" TJ (rains) tries to sell him an apartment they both know he can't afford. The security guard who throws him out recites poetry and apologizes. Strangeness. Friends try to get him to the funeral, but agree to let him go his own way. When chuck (labine) examines him, and talks him into going to thailand, it gets even more weird. He goes into a hospice center and talks to random people. Before getting thrown out. Disturbing. It just gets more and more strange. Not sure what the ending tells us. Story by kris elgstrand. It appears that someone knew someone dying of cancer, and had issues dealing with it. Weinberg has acted in various things, but this is his first and only direction of a full length film so far.
  • Brilliant writing (once again) from Kris Elgstrand. Jon Weinberg left us gobsmacked at his performance on both sides of the camera. As fans of Ty Labine since 'Reaper', we thought this is some of his best work ever. Beautifully shot, great music, solid performances from everyone in the cast...this movie deserves to be seen.
  • I was pleasantly surprised on this film. Left me laughing and has become one of my favorite movies.
  • Following the main character on his day-long quest to avoid facing his own mortality, Funeral Day lets us laugh, cringe, and sigh at the messiness of life, and the strange situations we find ourselves in when we are running away from something instead of towards something else.
  • Loved it as someone who enjoys quirky comedies and characters! Just look at the actors - Tyler Labine, Jed Rees (Deadpool AND Galaxy Quest), Rahnuma Panthaky. What makes it especially fun is that it's one of those films you can tell the actors enjoyed making. And yes, unpredictable would be a good way to describe what happens when the main guy runs into them. Fun music too.
