| Unlike anything ever done in the history of cinema
This movie is the beginning of the culmination of Marvel's masterfully woven cinematic universe. Beginning back in 2008 with iron man, we are finally seeing the results of all the movies have been pointing to; and it did not disappoint. Thanos is a complex villain, with deeper and more interesting desires than just "world domination." The dilemmas all the characters face in this movie (both the heroes and the villains) are truly thought provoking and leave you on the edge of your seat. No other set of movies has beeen so involved, so expanded, and encompassed so many story lines/characters and previous movies. The sheer amount of star power alone in this film is insane; and they do a masterful job of weaving all these unique and various characters into a common storyline.

Trivia

On March 1, 2018, as North America was approaching the May 5 release of the movie, Marvel Studios announced that this movie would release worldwide one week earlier, on April 27, 2018. The move comes from The Walt Disney Company's decision to let this movie have more time in the spotlight, before Disney and Lucasfilm released Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) on May 25, 2018.

Quotes

Asgardian Distress Call: This is the Asgardian refugee vessel Statesman. We are under assault. I repeat, we are under assault. The engines are dead, life support failing. Requesting aid from any vessel within range. We are 22 jump points out of Asgard. Our crew is made up ...

Goofs

When Thor goes to Nidavellir, Eitri tells Thor he made the gauntlet for Thanos because Asgard neglected to protect them. Asgard was just destroyed prior to the first scene of this movie, and yet the gauntlet was shown at the end of Age of Ultron, which takes place years prior. However, recall that Loki had been ruling Asgard for four years (overlapping Age of Ultron), and had allowed the Nine Realms to fall into war and chaos without doing anything on his own part to protect them (as opposed to Odin always striving to protect his kingdom). Loki's neglect would have most certainly left Nidavellir exposed to an attack from Thanos (assuming that Thanos obtaining the gauntlet in Age of Ultron is chronologically correct), which may be what Eitri was referring to.

Crazy Credits

There is one after-credits scene and no mid-credit scenes, something which Marvel hasn't done since Iron Man 3 (2013).

Alternate Versions

The film's IMAX release presented the film open-matte, at an aspect ratio of 1.90:1, meaning there was more picture information visible in the top and bottom of the frame than in normal theaters and on home video.
