The budding friendship between Luke Cage and Danny Rand is a reference to the Heroes for Hire, a small business started by the two in the comics. Both actors have stated their desire to make a Heroes for Hire series.

Goofs

The Hand is repeatedly referred to as being a global entity. Yet the "plan" to defeat them seems to be the thought that killing the leadership in New York and few of its soldiers will somehow defeat it. Worse, this very obvious flaw in logic is never addressed by the protagonists.

Crazy Credits

The opening credits are a sequence of cityscapes of New York, with colored silhouettes of the Defenders (Daredevil in red, Jessica Jones in blue/purple, Luke Cage in yellow/orange and Iron Fist in green), following themes from previous shows.
