Life has not been kind to Kevin Feige for the past few years. The Marvel supremo has had to face a lot of headaches ever since Avengers: Endgame, arguably the peak of the MCU, hit the theatres in 2019.
Since those days of glory, it’s been the same tale of woes over and over again – stories that have been unable to hit as hard as the ones in the Infinity Saga, and characters that have failed to resonate with the masses. The latter is indeed a long list, including the likes of She Hulk and Miss Marvel.
But one fact that encapsulates how the MCU has failed to hit home is how even the older characters have failed to recreate the impact they were expected to.

Throughout the development of ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ the updates we received were mostly concerning. Reports suggested extensive reshoots were required due to subpar action sequences and lackluster chemistry between the lead and the love interest.
However, during the 2024 CinemaCon, footage from the film was unveiled, depicting Sam Wilson as Captain America working to rebuild the Avengers and facing off against Harrison’s Ford Thunderbolt Ross. This revelation has sparked excitement for the movie.
In the clip, Sam Wilson meets President Thunderbolt Ross at the White House, who suggests reassembling the Avengers with Sam as their new Captain America. However, there are suggestions that Ross might have hidden intentions. A meeting is interrupted by a mysterious villain who takes charge, resulting in intense action scenes where Sam defends himself against Secret Service agents. Sam and Joaquín Torres join forces in these sequences, leading to a climactic showdown between Sam and Ross.

For most of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ development, the only thing we’ve heard about the movie was troubling updates. The movie underwent massive reshoots due to unsatisfactory action scenes and poor chemistry between the love interest and the lead (according to rumors).
Now during the 2024 CinemaCon, footage of the movie was shown, showcasing Sam Wilson as Captain America tasked with recreating the Avengers, going up against Harrison’s Ford Thunderbolt Ross, and we couldn’t be more excited about the movie.
The clip reveals Sam Wilson meeting President Thunderbolt Ross at the White House, where Ross proposes reuniting the Avengers under a new Captain America. However, there are hints of Ross having ulterior motives. Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson is slated to take on a new mantle, in an even bigger capacity, in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World. Starring as the new Captain America of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mackie looks good as always with the Vibranium shield and a new suit.

Sebastian Stan has proven, time and time again, that he knows how to immaculately deliver what he signs up for, irrespective of the character (or even person) that he has to play. His perfect portrayal of Bucky aka the Winter Soldier in the MCU is the true evidence of this claim, among others. That being said, his next film sees him effortlessly slip into a different avatar as well.
Sebastian Stan in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
As most die-hard fans must already know, one of Stan’s next performances would see him embodying the former president of the United States, Donald Trump. Yet, even though his first look in character makes him look like a scarily accurate version of Trump, fans can’t help but point out that it is not as accurate as all of his previous masterpiece portrayals.

Since the film’s initial announcement back in 2023, quite a few fans have been doubting if Anthony Mackie’s Captain America: Brave New World would actually live up to the legacy that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers left behind. Well, turns out it just might, as Mackie clarified through his most recent statement on the 2025-release window scheduled film.

According to the Sam Wilson portrayer’s statement, the upcoming would be a lot different than what fans are expecting, considering how it is a “clear reset.” Then there’s the fact revealed by Mackie that the film would be “10 times bigger” than his series with The Winter Soldier, which just makes Harrison Ford’s MCU debut film all the more interesting.

Marvel Studios has been quiet for a little while, but Kevin Feige and company made a splash at CinemaCon 2024 by showing off several minutes of footage from one of their next big movies.
One of the most astonishing things about the 15-year-long cultural phenomenon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that they managed to get a mass audience to care about limp characters like Thor and Captain America. As a comics reader in the 1990s, I recall that those who read Thor and Captain America books were snickered at; the X-Men, Batman, Spider-Man, and the then-rising Image Comics characters were considered way cooler. Thanks to the MCU, however, Captain America (previously played by Chris Evans) was now hip, and his movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is often vaunted -- rather debatably -- as one of the best films in the long-running series.

Kevin Feige and Anthony Mackie traveled to Las Vegas to introduce Captain America: Brave New World, the Marvel Studios movie that puts the actor in the starring role.
Feige called back to Captain America: The Winter Soldier as something fans still talk about, because it was a relatively grounded action thriller. He said Cap 4 would follow that tradition and showed a new clip.
Mackie has played hero Sam Wilson since 2014’s The Winter Soldier and appeared in multiple Marvel movies before headlining his own series, the Disney+ show Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which bowed in 2021. It told the story of Sam coming to grips with the idea of him becoming Captain America as a Black man in America after his friend Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) retires.

Sebastian Stan is no stranger to governmental subterfuge on screen. In fact, a decade ago he was causing international incidents in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, caught up in a conspiracy that went all the way to the top. It began with 2008’s “Iron Man,” a film that introduced the world to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark with the hint that he could be part of something greater. Thirty-two films later, the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still being told, albeit with various tributaries and detours that introduce new characters and new worlds that may or may not cross paths one day. Taika Waititi is a prolific director who created one of the best Marvel movies to date, aka Thor: Ragnarok. Yet his next venture into the Marvel Cinematic Universe turned out to be one of the most debatable entries of the entire superhero verse. Thor: Love and Thunder, although based on the comics, had some polar opposite reviews, while some found the silliness and goofiness of the movie fun others criticized it for being too tacky.

Marvel fans, too, jumped on the wagon to blame Watiti’s aversiveness to the character of Thor as the reason why the movie was so bad. But if Anthony Mackie’s new interview has some weight, it means all the criticism surrounding Love and Thunder being unlike the comics was for nothing.

When it comes to compelling antagonists in the MCU, it has been a kind of mixed bag, as, for every Killmonger, we have had the likes of Malekith and Whiplash. Fortunately, Daniel Bruhl’s Zemo was one of the more interesting villains the cinematic giant had to offer, who despite lacking any superpower of his own, succeeded in breaking the Avengers.

Will Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. return with a new series? ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s series experienced initial acclaim with productions such as WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, marking a significant journey into television in recent times. However, subsequent series exhibited a rapid descent into formulaic narratives, eliciting viewer fatigue towards Disney+ offerings. A notable shift emerged with the revelation to revive cherished pre-Disney+ era shows, notably X-Men: The Animated Series and Daredevil. The mantle of Captain America has been passed to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, marking a new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After inheriting the shield from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, Wilson’s journey as Captain America began in the 2021 series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”
Anthony Mackie || Captain America: Civil War
There, he worked alongside some talented stars like Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes) and Daniel Brühl (Baron Zemo). As Marvel has forayed from the TV to the movies and will focus more on Captain America, there are fewer chances of these two actors making a bigger impact in the future. Thus, their absence will be felt, not only by fans but by Mackie as well.

Anthony Mackie is one of the actors who does not hold back while speaking out his thoughts. Portraying the role of Sam Wilson aka Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mackie has a box full of memories with his role.
The actor also starred alongside Sebastian Stan and Daniel Brühl in the iconic 2021 MCU show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Since the show wasn’t renewed second season, Mackie addressed his disappointment in a recent candid interview!

The Captain America films have always had a recurring supporting character, that being Steve Rogers’ lifelong friend Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. Initially presumed dead in the first film, he soon returned as a brainwashed agent of Hydra until he was eventually freed from his mental enslavers. He would go on to appear in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame and would even get a starring role in the Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
But now it seems that the upcoming fourth film, Captain America: Brave New World, will be breaking this tradition as actor Sebastian Stan will apparently not be in the film. Actor Anthony Mackie, known for playing Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, and now Captain America, stated in a recent interview that he missed Sebastian on set. He said:

Ever since Steve Rogers decided to hand his shield off to his buddy Sam Wilson (a.k.a. Falcon) at the end of Avengers: Endgame, fans have wondered what was next. We got a Disney+ series that showed Sam’s hesitance to pick up the mantle of Captain America and the history that comes with it. By the end of the series, he knew he was the only person who could take on the role of Captain America. Now, where do we go? It looks like the upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World will tell us.

Andor, Moon Knight, Obi Wan and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier are getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release in the UK.
As we reported a week or two back, Disney has been lining up another bunch of its Disney+ Marvel and Star Wars TV shows for physical media release. It started this last year with a bunch of limited edition 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbooks that appeared to go down rather well, and it’d been announced that more titles were heading to the US at least.
Well, we can now confirm that those releases are also coming to the UK as well, and we’ve got dates for them as well. All four of them! Best stop waffling on and get to the point.

Ewan McGregor returned as the Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi, in his titular series, almost 17 years after his last appearance in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. The series did a decent job of entertaining the Star Wars fandom, despite the criticisms for its shoddy writing at places. However, Disney has quietly confirmed that McGregor’s show is not getting another season.
Ewan McGregor reprised his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy in Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan Kenobi took place ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and the titular character is in hiding on the planet Tatooine, looking after Luke. He is tasked with the mission of rescuing Princess Leia from the Galactic Empire, which leads to a confrontation with his former apprentice.

Several Disney+ TV shows, including Andor, are getting physical releases and in 4K too! More on those below.
In the age of streaming, physical media has become a bit of a hot topic. On one hand, digital libraries and streaming services mean that you’ve got an almost endless amount of films and TV shows at your disposal.
However, as Guillermo Del Toro noted, you only truly own a film if you own it physically. There are plenty of great TV shows and films on streaming services that are not available on physical media, but four Disney+ shows are getting 4K Uhd Blu-ray releases so there’s still hope.
Andor, Moon Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier have been confirmed for 4K Uhd Blu-ray and will be available from 30th April. At the time of writing, it looks like this is US only, with a UK release pending.

Last year, Disney+ started sending some of its original programming to physical media with limited edition SteelBook releases for the first two seasons of "The Mandalorian," as well as the Marvel Studios shows "WandaVision" and "Loki." This year, the House of Mouse will continue sending "Star Wars" and Marvel shows to 4K and Blu-ray with a whole new roster of SteelBook releases.

The movies of Marvel may have a sliding scale of entertainment value and quality, but it’s hard to argue that “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” isn’t one of their strongest efforts to date. Chris Evans, recently speaking at The Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle (via Variety), agrees. Detailing why ‘The Winter Soldier’ remains his favorite MCU installment during his long tenure as the hero Steve Rogers, Evans said everything clicked in the “satisfying experience.”

Chris Evans, whose name is used pretty synonymously with Steve Rogers aka the original and former Captain America of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently perked up to share his favorite movie that he has been a part of from the multi-billionaire comics-based universe. And as surprising as it may be, this one film that he holds dearest is not Avengers: Endgame or Infinity War.

His next known appearance was set to be in Captain America: Brave New World on February 14, 2025. However, it's confirmed he'll get the spotlight in another project as well, which has somehow managed to avoid featuring his character up until now.

Emmy Award winner Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) has re-teamed with Nobody writer Derek Kolstad (John Wick franchise) on a new action pic titled Normal, with Ben Wheatley set as director. WME Independent will launch sales at the upcoming European Film market.
The script, written by Kolstad, follows Ulysses (Odenkirk), who is thrust into the temporary role of the sheriff for the small sleepy town Normal after the previous one’s untimely death. When the town’s bank is robbed by an out-of-town couple, Ulysses arrives on the scene to find that the town is hiding much more sinister deep-seated secrets under its surface and everyone – from the bartender to the priest – is in on it. And now Ulysses, who’s up-till-now focused only on running away from the demons of his past, must uncover the full extent of this criminal conspiracy.

Beware of major spoilers for "Argylle" in the following article.
If you catch "Argylle" in theaters this weekend, you'll be treated to a spy action blockbuster packed with so many twists and turns that you can't help but have a good time. Director Matthew Vaughn delivers some wild action sequences, and Sam Rockwell teamed with Bryce Dallas Howard is a surprisingly fantastic pairing. But when a movie has so many plot twists, there's bound to be some confusion. For example, there's a credits scene that might leave some scratching their head if they haven't been keeping up with the inspiration behind the movie. But besides that, the ending of "Argylle" blatantly sets up a sequel with a reveal that adds a new wrinkle to what is arguably the movie's biggest twist.
In "Argylle," Bryce Dallas Howard plays Elly Conway, the author of the successful "Argylle" spy novel series. But she...

Alaqua Cox Led Echo’s Budget Revealed ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Marvel seems to have ignited new hopes among the fans with its recent mini-series, Echo. The Ma-rated show led by Alaqua Cox received positive responses from the viewers and managed to do so with a budget much less than some of Marvel’s previous shows. It might give the studio some perspective on their upcoming projects. Scroll below for more.
The Disney+ series explored the origin of Maya Lopez, her relationship with Kingpin [played by Vincent D’Onfrio], and catch up to the events of Hawkeye and after that. It is perfectly done as people have been intrigued, and their anticipation for Daredevil: Born Again has also increased. Charlie Cox as Daredevil also had a cameo in the Marvel show. For the unversed, Matt Murdock and Maya develop a relationship in the comics, and we hope that will be explored further in the MCU.

Whoops! Thanks to a new Amazon mail advert, Anthony Mackie’s brand-new Captain America suit for Captain America: Brave New World is on display. American Bald Eagle-eyed fans posted the promo featuring Sam Wilson’s stylish Captain America suit, revealing the star-spangled hero’s upcoming look for the forthcoming Marvel film. In the promo, Sam Wilson sports a royal blue suit with red and white stripes across his torso. With Cap’s classic shield in hand, it appears as if Sam’s wings have a new blue and white paint job to match the theme. Oh, and remember Sam’s red-tinted glasses. He needs to protect his eyes from splattered insects when he’s flying through the sky. No one wants to pick severed wings out of their eye ducts when they’re trying to save the planet.

Anime grows more popular with each passing year, yet an endless debate in the community still argues the merits of “subs vs. dubs.” Among some, dubbed anime continues to be viewed as a concession or a way to lure mainstream international audiences into the Japanese medium. It’s always a good idea to experience something in its original language, but dubbing has also proven itself to be its own artform that has the power to complement and improve upon the original series.
Certain anime dubs, such as Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and My Hero Academia, have won over fans and are viewed as equals to their original subtitled versions. However, the anime dubbing industry has made tremendous strides over the past decade and Attack on Titan has become the crowning achievement of what’s possible when inspired dubbing meets groundbreaking storytelling.
