  • A good take on comedy. Pretty funny and with quick humor, as well as vulgar, and as well as brash. It's very idiotic at sometimes but I personally enjoy the scenes with childish slapstick humor. It manages to mirror a "The League" humor.

Since it is Tru TV their writing is not the best and the acting isn't obviously Emmy worthy material, but I was completely ecstatic when hearing that they were renewed for a second season. So I give it an 8 since it is strictly a comedy on Tru TV, but also because it is something I'd watch over and over and over again. I made my IMDb account for making this review so yes I do personally really enjoy this. I Love every comedian cameo and the use of Kyle Kinnane

Here is what I though of Those Who Can't. First, let me say, that I think it is great that it was picked up for a second season before it premiered. The first couple episodes were not the best of the series. The first episode is just a take on the original Amazon plot with different jokes and one liners sprinkled throughout out the episode. Sure, some of the jokes might have been a little better, but it lacked the spontaneity of the original pilot and felt a little forced. It might have just been them being a little nervous, but I'm happy to say as the season progressed things improved.

In the beginning, the show just kind of came off as dumb. In the end, is was still dumb, but a bit more clever in it's dumbness. Andy Fairbell (Andrew Orvehdal) did a spot on job of playing the dumb gym teacher. In most shows they make gym teachers beef heads, but in this show he truly fits the saying, "Those who can't teach, and those who can't teach teach gym". It helped his character development a lot when it is revealed that he was the class president and prom king at a "special" school. There have been times when I have wondered if friends I have made in my adulthood may have gone to special schools themselves. So, personally that resinates with me.

Billy Shoemaker (Ben Roy) was believable as a past his prime punk rocker who settled, but I wish they pulled his family life in a bit more. Yes, we all love goofy comedy, but we need a little bit of depth with our stories. This show takes place almost exclusively with in the strict parameters of these people are teachers, and teachers have no lives. That being said, the show would be a little more captivating if these people did have lives.

Loren Peyton (Adam Cayton Holland) is supposed to be the too cool for school teacher who is in fact not very cool at all. He suffers the same problems that Billy does. He's a handsome, slightly smug guy, who likes hitting on the ladies and getting sloshed, but I want more. What are his corks. Yes we need stereotypical characters so the audience recognizes who they are, but those stereotypes need to have corks that make them interesting to us. I've only watched through the show once, but off the top of my head I can't think what Loren's corks are.

The supporting cast was fantastic. Rory Scovell plays the biggest Colorado cheeseball of a principal I could have imagined. Not everything he did made a lot of sense, and the story might have been a little more believable if those things had made sense, but I thought he was a lot of fun. Abbey Logan (Maria Thayer) is great at being a sexy librarian, without being the sexy librarian. She reminds me of teachers I knew in high school, who tried way too hard to be considered cool by their students. I hope in season two her role continues to get bigger. She's funny, and let's face it, Those Who Can't is a bit of a sausage fest. Tammy (Sonya Eddy) was great as the principle's secretary. In several episodes she's great at bringing a bit of sanity to the madness. Like Abbey, I hope to see her much more in season two. I personally loved Kyle Kinane's portrayal of the school's drunk teacher Rod Knor. I think he left the show too soon, and hope he returns often as a substitute.

All in all, I enjoyed the show. It's great to see some local guys creating a high quality television series, and I think for a first season they have done an excellent job. Their is room for improvement, but just from the beginning of season one to the end of it, you can see that they are getting better. I think my biggest critique is that they should bring on more students to play larger roles in the show, and continue to build their relationships as an ensemble cast. Andrew, Ben and Adam are great but Andy, Ben, Adam, Sonya, Rory, Maria and Kyle are even better.

I give Those Who Can't 8 out of 10 stars, and look forward to seeing season two!

Acting is so-so for the most part. You're aware it's a sitcom, better than most, but the premise is actually pretty funny. Great writing. Know so many people like this! Good stuff
  • 'Those Who Can't' is a fantastic adult sitcom in the vein of 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia'. Its first season takes several episodes to get going, so stick with it (and probably watches better now that we've grown more familiar with the characters); the show improves noticeably during its first season for every successive episode.

Season two has been, thusfar, home-runs completely; the episodes are consistently funny, ranking all among the show's best; the show is clearly stretching out plot-wise, and all the actors have become much more comfortable (looking at you, Adam). Big props for (taking a page from IASIP) not sidelining Maria Thayer.

Recommended if you're looking for a dark comedy fix. Give it a chance!

I watched like 5 min of an episode a while back and went to find something else. Whilst searching it came up again and I only had 3 things on the list and already watched one so I finished the first episode and it was stupid but I thought it had potential. I made it to season 2 episode 2 and went to find something else. I will finish it tonight but needed a break. Possible spoilers Not that it matters ( seems no one knows about this show) Now you have ro sit through a lot of junk for the funny. I mean the funny is funny tho( to me). I LMAO in the episode where Billy has a dream about Loren. The stake out car scene Hahahaa! I had to rewatch it 3 times! Tammy is hilarious and Sussie one of my fave curb characters. There is a lot of over redundant jokes ( like the peanut) totally over kill but the small funny part that are in this were really funny to me. I'll probably finish it tonight and see how season 2 goes.

Been with the show since the very 1st episode came out, and now that I've finally finished the 3rd season (which was well worth the wait) this is still my favorite current show. All the cast is great (extra kudos to my secret crush Maria Thayer whom I've enjoyed since the "Eagleheart" days), the wit is spot on, and the jokes are both outrageous yet still within realms of credibility. They especially play well with irony and flipping things to the opposite spectrums.

I hope there's a 4th season in the works but I pray it never ends.
  • The first season of this show was Thoughtful and energetic. The main character's interaction was good. Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Orvedahl, Benjamin Roy, Maria Thayer, Rory Scovel, Sonya Eddy by the end of the first season grew together as a cast and delivered. The episodes were funny enough to consistently make you comeback for the next episode. A real funny prospective of Those Who Should not. The show manages to bring out the juvenile delinquent in all of us. Pregnant Beth (Libe Barer) added a funny touch of real life with high school students. I'm giving an Excellent because of the effort that was put in too production and cast interaction. Real proof of Those Who Can't. Congratulations on a very good first season.
  • It was the worst pilot I've ever came across, character development goes awry when they decided to make the characters seem way more awkward, insecure, childish and reckless in the name of dark humor, but I've never seen such an obivous failure in doing this. How could you even justify yourself writing such an episode! Just to be sure, I've given it a second chance and watched another episode that got a good rating, and although it ratherly improved it is never funny, and it is not even a tiny bit appealing. So I suggest do not waste your time watching this while there are literally thousand other TV-Shows which can easily replace the pleasure or whatvever you want from a TV-Show, that you'll ever get from ''Those Who Can't''. Also, I hereby am adding the writers and anyone who is involved in this show to my blacklist, and swear on never watching anything they would produce.
  • I must say that I didn't expect much from this show due to the fact that I usually don't go for raw workplace comedies however this one was right up my ally it was hilarious and rather unique in some way this isn't for those senctive to swearing or sexual jokes but its a awesome choice for the rest of us who can accept the show for what it is and have a good time laughing at it and understand NEVER to act like these guys who 'cant' then this is one for you and you should have a blast watching it
  • This show tries to be like Always Sunny In Philadelphia and comes off generic.

The actors acting is vanilla and belongs in a terrible modern day cell phone commercial.

They go out of their way to be gross or off putting or vulgar and the attempt is obvious and in no way genuine. This makes it unfunny.

It's literally like somebody watched Always Sunny In Philadelphia and said "HEY! I CAN DO THAT!" Then ran to the nearest production studio and made an exact replica of ASIP but hollow, lifeless and uninspired.

I rated it at a 1 and gave it this review only because I could not press a button and make it go off air immediately.

I really enjoyed this show. The characters are fun and enjoyable, sometimes ridiculous but relatable. I am however, very disappointed that the third season has still not been released. Season 2 was 2016!
  • Absolutely loved this show! Was a bit skeptical at first with not knowing the Actors and just watching the show Vice principals (a hard show to beat) and this show really shocked me! What a great cast and awesome show! Paced it out over 2 weeks and wow wish it would have gone a couple more seasons.
  • After seeing so many bad reviews, this is one of those shows that you only glance at in desperation. Yet I found myself watching the full pilot.

By the time it ended, I had laughed out loud multiple times and was fully engaged in the series. The show is absurd, crass, raunchy and just plain funny. WAY better than most of the sitcoms out there.

I genuinely think the bad reviews were just a product of the times. Because there are plenty of shows with much worse content that all seem to do fine and aren't horribly panned as this show was.

Moral of the story is this is for sure worth checking out!

Dear TruTV, You have misjudged your "silly folks" demographics (myself included), mistaking us for "stupid folks". "Those Who Can't" is quite possibly the most unfunny, unintentionally cringe worthy, crappiest show in the history of television. Kudos if losing viewers and sponsors was the look you were going for. Stop the madness! Do NOT renew this show for a second season. Please stop torturing TruTV fans with this "Always Sunny" wannabe travesty fail of a show. Dump it and instead air reruns of "Impractical Jokers", "Billy On The Street", and "Worlds Dumbest", because those are your bread 'n butter, the reasons we tune in. Maintaining "Those Who Can't" in the TruTV lineup is the reason we are tuning out in droves. Thanks in advance for seeing the error of your ways, admitting "Those Who Can't" was a really bad programming judgment call, and for replacing it with other truly hilarious TruTV shows which have huge, loyal fan bases and guaranteed audiences. Regards, All Intelligent TruTV Viewers

So , Those Who Can't is about a group of high school teachers that doesn't exactly on the best term of teaching. As expected, it's a dark comedy sitcom series with a questionable-ly inappropriate for some people. There's a lot of humorous aspect that some people might find it gross or unfunny due to its silliness or "grossness" , and some of the jokes are kind-of-considerably-a-little-racist-nor- sexist-ish ( it's a dark comedy series , so nothing too harsh or anything. It's expected for this kind of series ).

I read on some reviews that Those Who Can't have a resemblance with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Can't say that those reviewers wrong , there are indeed a similarity between these two series. And i'm pretty sure that this series is inspired by always sunny. If you're a fan of Always Sunny , it's pretty obvious. Even though this series is pretty much a less-good version of Always Sunny , Those Who Can't still has a numerous funny moment through out the series. Some of the jokes are pretty good and intelligence ( although not as good as Always Sunny , and it's actually getting better over the season. And the acting is pretty average for a sitcom, can't say that it has a A-Rated acting but basically all sitcoms have an okay acting.

So , i'd say you should give it a chance to check this one out, especially if you like dark humor or you're an Always Sunny Fan ( since this series pretty much Always Sunny 2.0 ). I watched the whole first season in one sitting, so i'd say it's quite good. Can't wait for season 3.
  • Hello lackluster copycat of it;s always sunny! although its better then the league which also wouldn't exist without it's always sunny
  • If you enjoy comedy that isn't heavily mainstream and journeys on the roads less traveled, give this offbeat show a few episodes and you will be watching every one-It's hilarious and a much needed spin on the views of educating these little, "angels!" daunting tasks.
