Johnny Knoxville always seems to display an aching vulnerability, and it’s not just because he’s voluntarily endured years of intense bodily suffering as a result of his Jackass movies. So he seems the perfect choice to play the central character in Lije Sarki’s raucous black comedy that plays like a Bad News Bears featuring recovering addicts rather than precocious children.
Knoxville plays Morris, whose sad state of affairs is made immediately apparent in the opening scene: He’s shown waking up nearly naked and bloody on a park bench, having clearly been on one hell of a bender the night before. Even worse, he had apparently left his eight-year-old daughter home alone, making him realize he’s a danger to others as well as himself.

"You got 10 guys that need this place." Paramount has revealed an official trailer for a sports comedy called Sweet Dreams, a new film directed by the producer of sleeper hit The Peanut Butter Falcon previously. Opening in theaters in April this spring to enjoy. This fresh new comedy is a wild journey of second chances. Forced into rehab, Morris agrees to coach a misfit softball team of recovering addicts from his own house to prove that everyone, despite their past, can hit a home run. And maybe he will get his own life back on track, too. Johnny Knoxville stars as Morris, with an ensemble cast featuring Mo Amer, GaTa, Bobby Lee, Theo Von, Brian Van Holt, Jonnie Park, Shakewell, Adam Faison, plus Jay Mohr & Kate Upton. This doesn't look like it has the most original script, but it still does seem quite wholesome and amusing in an obnoxiously entertaining way.

In 2019, rumors circulated that Shia Labeouf and Mel Gibson would be featured in a new movie about the affluent Ashkenazi Jewish noble banking Rothschild family. The project, which was said to delve into the mysterious and secretive world of one of the wealthiest families in history, was met with excitement by fans.
However, since the initial announcement, there have been few or no updates regarding the status of the film, causing many to wonder: What happened to Gibson’s Rothschild movie? The project was supposed to be helmed by Tetris director Jon S. Baird.
Mel Gibson in the John Wick spin-off, The Continental
Speculation has been rife concerning the causes of the apparent delay or possible demise of the project. The movie’s title and subject matter caused controversy then, and Gibson was forced to deny any link between Rothchild and the wealthy Jewish banking dynasty of the same name.

Actress Dakota Johnson is not making headlines this time around for her role in a romantic drama or a gripping thriller. Instead, it is due to her disappointment with the cast of the recently released superhero film, Madame Web. The actress, 34, participated in extensive driving stunt training for Sony’s film, but she was not permitted to do any “crazy things” while working on the film.
During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Johnson was asked if she was excited to be doing her own stunts in Madame Web, helmed by the British director S. J. Clarkson. The film is based on the same-named character from Marvel Comics. Johnson plays Cassandra Webb, better known as Madame Webb, a clairvoyant with the ability to foresee future occurrences in the ‘spider world’.

Actor Shia Labeouf has been lighting up headlines this week. While he bravely admitted his bout with suicidal thoughts, his battles with director Olivia Wilde on Don’t Worry, Darling have taken the lead. Now, Labeouf is admitting that the so-called autobiographical Honey Boy was anything but. Labeouf fessed up on his friend and The Peanut Butter Falcon co-star Jon Bernthal’s podcast, Real Ones.
In the interview, Labeouf reflected on Honey Boy: “I wrote this narrative, which was just fucking nonsense. My dad was so loving to me my whole life. Fractured, sure. Crooked, sure. Wonky, for sure. But never was not loving, never was not there. He was always there … and I’d done a world press tour about how fucked he was as a man.”
Upon release and on the promotional circuit, Honey Boy–which Shia Labeouf wrote–the actor consistently noted the autobiographical elements and how the...

Church is saddling up with an all-star ensemble that already includes Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Luke Wilson and Stranger Things 4 breakout, Jamie Campbell Bower.
Costner is starring in the feature, as well as directing it and producing it via his banner, Territory Pictures. He also co-wrote the script with Jon Baird.
Horizon is being described as an epic saga that chronicles a 15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. The roles are sprawling as the story seeks to tell, per the studio, a westward journey “fraught with peril and intrigue from the constant onslaught of natural elements, to the interactions with the indigenous peoples who lived on the land,...

The horror! Cried early reviews. A travesty of a Jane Austen adaptation! Then followed some more level-headed takes which didn’t find themselves quite as allergic to Persuasion‘s modern-sensibilities-in-period-rom-com approach. Now, after the fuss, Netflix audiences are making up their own minds. If you’re among them and are planning to spend/have spent just shy of two hours with the cast below, here are some of the places you may recognise them from..

He would make his big-screen breakthrough in the form of director Michael Bay’s live-action “Transformers” franchise launched in 2007 as human hero Sam Witwicky, who becomes involved in a war between the mechanical alien foes Autobots and Decepticons.
He was recruited to co-star as Harrison Ford’s greaser son Mutt Williams in 2008’s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” the fourth installment of the series directed by Steven Spielberg that is set in the 1950s. The “Twisted Metal” series at Peacock has cast Thomas Haden Church.
Church will star opposite previously announced series leads Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz. The show is described as a half-hour action comedy based on the Playstation video games of the same name.
In the show, a motor-mouthed outsider (Mackie) is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief (Beatriz), he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
Church will play Agent Stone, said to be a cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrolman who rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist, prosecuting even the smallest crimes with the harshest of judgements. Agent Stone...

Dakota Johnson was caught off guard by the script for “The Lost Daughter”: “I never read something so honest,” she says. “At times, raw, almost to being uncomfortable but still so human.” The actress then met writer and director Maggie Gyllenhaal for lunch in New York, who she calls “a seeker of truth.”
On this episode of the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast, Johnson talks about her experience working on Netflix’s “The Lost Daughter,” the adaptation of the Elena Ferrante novel. “The Lost Daughter” — one of the first movies to shoot during the early days of the pandemic — has received much critical acclaim after debuting at many of the fall film festivals.

Shia Labeouf had a long road to travel to rehabilitate his reputation after a 2017 traffic stop in which he told a black police officer that he was going to hell for the color of his skin, accused him of arresting him for being white, and ranted about his wife watching pornography featuring “black dicks.” But, following a grovelling public apology, a year of probation and attending anger management therapy, he seemed to have accomplished it.
Hits like Honey Boy (which he also wrote) and The Peanut Butter Falcon won back audiences and he appeared to be on an upward trajectory. There were even credible reports by Variety that Marvel Studios were considering him for a major McU role, which would have marked his full return to A-list acting.
Then, his former partner Tahliah Barnett (Aka award-winning musician Fka Twigs) sued him for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress.

When Shia Labeouf exited the film “Don’t Worry Darling” in September, it was reported that scheduling conflicts were to blame. But according to Variety, he was actually fired by director Olivia Wilde for violating her “zero a–hole policy.”
“Though shooting had not started yet when Labeouf departed, insiders close to the project say Labeouf displayed poor behavior and his style clashed with the cast and crew, including Wilde, who ultimately fired him,” Variety reported on Thursday.
The film, which landed at New Line after a Hollywood bidding war, was seen as another step in a career renaissance for Labeouf, who was coming off his well-received autobiographical flick “Honey Boy” and the indie drama “The Peanut Butter Falcon.” Following a string of “legal woes and a bizarre timeline of erratic behavior,” Variety reported, landing the role in Wilde’s film was seen as a “professional victory” for Labeouf.

Shia Labeouf has not had a great 2020. At the beginning of the year, things looked rosy. He’d apparently overcome his alcohol dependency issues, was picking up good notices for Honey Boy, had won over audiences with the excellent The Peanut Butter Falcon and there were multiple reports that major studios considered him a rising prospect once again. The peak came when he beat out several A-list competitors for a role in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, apparently making his mainstream comeback official.
Then the lawsuit from his former partner Tahliah Barnett (aka Fka Twigs) hit the news. This alleged a shocking litany of abusive behavior including strangulation, beatings, intentionally infecting her with an Std and getting his kicks by shooting stray dogs. The allegations were backed up by other women and – quite rightly – have blown a hole in his career revival.

This alleged a shocking litany of abusive behavior including strangulation, beatings, intentionally infecting her with an Std and getting his kicks by shooting stray dogs. The allegations were backed up by other women and – quite rightly – have blown a hole in his career revival.

Just a year ago, Shia Labeouf was having a career resurgence. After being widely praised for his autobiographical film, “Honey Boy,” which he wrote and starred in, and the indie drama “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” Labeouf landed a coveted role in the upcoming thriller, “Don’t Worry Darling,” the highly anticipated follow-up to Olivia Wilde’s directorial breakout, “Booksmart.”
The project was buzzy around town, sparking a major bidding war, before landing at New Line, with a handful of high-profile actors angling for the role that ultimately went to Labeouf. For Labeouf, “Don’t Worry Darling” represented a professional victory. After a well-documented string of legal woes and a bizarre timeline of erratic behavior and stints in rehab that that caused many studios to distance themselves from him, the film signaled Labeouf’s possible return to a more mainstream career.
But then in September, Labeouf was officially moved off the project. Instead,...

Fka Twigs has sued her ex-boyfriend, Shia Labeouf, accusing the actor of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress.
The musician, who filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, and the actor had dated for about one year in 2018 and 2019, after working together on the film, “Honey Boy.”
“Shia Labeouf hurts women,” states the lawsuit, obtained by Variety. “He uses them. He abuses them, both physically and mentally. He is dangerous.”
Labeouf once slammed the musician against a car and attempted to strangle her, according to the lawsuit, as she was “trying to escape from one of his manic tirades.” Labeouf also knowingly infected Fka Twigs with an Std, according to the public filing.
Variety has reached out to representatives for Labeouf, who could not immediately be reached.

Shia Labeouf began his acting career as a teenager on the Disney Channel series “Even Stevens.” He would be nominated for a Young Artist Award in 2001 and won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2003.
He ultimately would pull out of the “Transformers” films, allowing Mark Wahlberg to take over as the lead in 2014.
