The 20th edition of the Tallinn Black Nights festival rolls out its digital red carpet with the inaugaral edition of Storytek, a one-day financing and business development forum for alternative storytellers.
Co-hosted by Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, the all-day event takes place on Saturday November 19 and will host panels on topics ranging from intellectual property (IP) and product development to crowdfunding and marketing and distribution for new multi-platform businesses.
Informal brainstorming discussions will also be on the agenda, with international film and technology experts revealing their trade tips across the gaming, merchandising, mobile content, publishing and Vr and Ar industries

The TorinoFilmlab has revealed the nine projects that will take part in the 2016 edition of FrameWork, the initiative’s flagship lab for first and second feature film projects.
Amongst the first and second-time filmmakers is Iranian director Massoud Bakhshi, whose first feature A Respectable Family debuted in Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes in 2012, and Israeli director Tom Shoval, whose 2013 drama Youth was named best Israeli feature at the 2013 Jerusalem Film Festival.
This year’s mentors include Israel Film Fund executive director Katriel Schory, script consultants Franz Rodenkirchen, Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten and Anita Voorham, film director Thanos Anastopoulos, cinematographer Marko Brdar, post-production expert Niko Remus, producer Didar Domehri, acting coach and casting director Tatiana Vialle, sound designer Peter Albrechtsen and film promotion consultant Joanna Solecka.

Shortly after the Sundance Institute named their January Screenwriter’s Lab roster, it’s another West coast entity that is offering some support to the next gen of producers. The San Francisco Film Society folks have bestowed the Producer Fellowships to Reena Dutt, Kyle Martin (who is know best from producing Lena Dunham’s Tiny Furniture and Lance Edmands’ Bluebird) and Kimberly Parker (who most recently produced Katie Says Goodbye – a title we had pegged for Sundance).
