  • Warning: Spoilers
Ann (Amanda Lara Kay) kills Nicklaus Bell (Gareth Lawrence) an ancient vampire when she was 10 years old. She is part of a group of vampire slayers and has since gone on to live a normal life. She tells vampires stories to her teen children who are skeptical and decide to disobey their mother and find Bell's grave. You can guess the results from the title as Ann once again must face off with Nick, who is out for revenge.

The was based on Mark Morris' earlier work "Evil of the Vampires" a 2010 short feature with the same characters. In addition to being the writer and director, he also stars in the feature as Jack, the father who thinks it may be a virus. The film was light and campy at times, but failed to keep that aspect alive and creating scenes that lacked being camp and instead were simply bad. He broke the rule: "Once you go Camp, you never go back." The beginning scene was so silly, especially with the soundtrack, I thought someone was going to yell, "Cut!" as if they were making a film within a film. But no, it was just that hokey. At times the characters and dialogue was great, and other times splitting the feature apart in two directions. Oh yes, the make-up was bad. I am assuming it was supposed to be bad, as it doesn't get that nasty by accident. My advice to Mr Morris would be to create multiple colorful characters instead of just concentrating on the one he will play.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

My head was left scratching watching this. The reviews on Amazon were good, the reviews on IMDb were good, but the film really wasn't.

Currently playing on Amazon Prime Vampire Resurrection is the story of a family battling off a vampire threat.

I knew I was onto a loser when the opening credits rolled, it looked strange and disjointed, a girl having her head whacked out on the floor, but why? It just didn't make much sense.

The film is like some promo vehicle for it's director Marc Morris who writes, produces, directs and generously (or not) takes on the leading role in the film. If you are going to star in your own film unless your a real filmmaker, you cannot afford to let your eye off the ball. Which is exactly what he does here. So quick is he to promote himself, he allows his fellow actors (I use the term loosely) to fall at his feet in a jumbled mess.

There are a number of "what on Earth scenes" the rapidly growing girl, the disappearing vampires, what are they doing in the cave? And worst of all the awful, I mean hideous song at the end.

"Vampire Resurrection, Vampire Resurrection, Vampire Resurrection!" Who dropped a testicle to let this song pass quality control, oh hang on, there was no quality control.

I see reference to classics like Lost Boys and Fright Night being used in comparison to this movie, they are in a different league, a million times better than this.

Avoid at your peril.. You Have been warned!
  • I begin this by stating that, as a consumer of entertainment I expect a given return for the amount I put in. By which, I don't expect much from low-budget films; however, we aught to lend our time to the amateur and aspiring directors and actors. Critique where necessary to help enhance their future performances should they take them on board.

Unfortunately, I cannot reclaim my almost 2 hours back and my criticism won't be as constructive.

This film was not made for entertainment purposes or to help unknown actors break into the limelight. This is an egotistical showreel of the lead actor, director, scriptwriter, world leader and astronaut.

Ignoring the very basic plot, which becomes largely irrelevant by the fact you are consistently distracted by moments where you just sit there like "...what?". What we have here is a prime example of what makes a good film, good. There is virtually no character development what so ever, the personalities don't particularly shine and I wouldn't necessarily put this down to sub standard acting, but more down to the script.

There are no real moments that make you feel the tension of the plot. The vampires don't feel convincing that they're menacing and that's crucial in any horror.

I won't touch on the ending music.

Unfortunately, this film is a cliché of the budget/amateur film making craze; we should be giving these types of films our time and money. However, this is not one of them.
