Paddington, now happily settled with the Brown family and a popular member of the local community, picks up a series of odd jobs to buy the perfect present for his Aunt Lucy's 100th birthday, only for the gift to be stolen.
During one scene Paddington gets run through the cogs of a large clock. Once he gets out he turns to camera revealing a smudge similar to a toothbrush moustache. This is a clear nod to Charles Chaplin and his film Modern Times (1936).
Aunt Lucy said, if we're kind and polite the world will be right.
In the barber scene, Paddington drops the houseplant when he picks up the phone. Later, the houseplant disappears.
Like in Paddington (2014), the credits feature the assurance "No bears were harmed in the making of this film."
