Definitely not one of the best of Karthik's movies. He started waning by 2000s . Puffy cheeks , under eye bags, thick wig ...
He is a jobless youth from a village going to interview after interview and failing .his father Vijay kumar is always scolding him ( for his own good ).His mother - Sujatha is always supportive ( like all mums in Tamil movies ) .
He goes to the city to attend an interview and stays with Roja and her father as they are family friends . When he returns back , his father Vijay Kumar says Roja's family wishes to marry him to Roja. Though reluctant as he is still jobless he agrees .
Both get married and start living in the village . When he is travelling to attend one interview he meets his look alike a rich industrialist Karthik who is dying due to his past bad habits. He too is married to pretty Kaushalya and has a large family .
Upon his death in the train , the jobless Kartik starts leading the double life due to some mis understandings .The large affectionate family totally takes him in . he starts taking the sick industry from strength to strength paralelly trying to train Kausalya to take it over from him . He tries to find Roja and fails time and again. Eventually he does find her when she comes to his office for an interview. Roja and Kausalya are friends since long unknown to Karthik. A few confusions , twists, turns later ,
all becomes well , he goes back to Roja . Kausalya becomes independent .
Talented actors like Santhanam, Naseer are wasted in irrelevant roles. Roja and Kausalya are pretty and sweet , They also emote well when required.
The story relies heavily on female sentiments like marriage, rituals , widowhood , couple-hood etc., The movie is slow at times and drags some sentimental scenes .
