We have now come to the end of the EU Lcs Summer Split and Worlds is just around the corner. Last Sunday saw two teams that have had mixed form this split face off in the final in Paris in Misfits vs G2. Before getting to last weekend’s games here’s a quick recap of how they got there.
G2’s and Misfits’ roads to the final were certainly not easy. Both were in the same group and finished second and third respectively, well behind group winners Fnatic who automatically qualified for the Semi-final. This left them having to face the second and third place teams from Group B, being the Unicorns of Love and Splyce, whilst H2k took the other semi-final spot.

We have now come to the end of week 8 of the League of Legends EU Lcs Summer Split and with the Summer Finals fast approaching, teams are vying for those top spots. With only weeks 9 and 10 remaining, Fnatic look set to take top place in Group A, whilst Unicorns of Love and H2k battle for top spot of Group B. Qualification for the World Championships is the prize.
Fnatic are certainly the in-form team at the moment, sitting comfortably on 9 wins to one loss in Group A and on a winning streak of 6. Since losing to Roccat in week 4 2-1, they have only dropped one game to the Unicorns of Love (discounting Rift Rivals). Their recent form was exemplified by that match, turning around a 1-0 deficit with two perfectly executed games which both ended in under 30 minutes each.
It’s hard to pick stand out players from this...

The past weekend saw the race to become EU Lcs Summer Split Champions, and to qualify for the World Championships later in the year, blown wide open as both G2 and the Unicorns of Love conceded unlikely defeats in week three.
Since their return from the Mid-Season Invitational in Brazil, G2 look like they might still be in holiday mode, having lost consecutive matches in Group A of the EU Lcs Summer split. Having won their first two matches, G2 stumbled against a particularly strong looking Fnatic team who are seeking to recover their crown. They then came up against a resilient Misfits side who over three games looked far more comfortable than their counterparts, and have ended week three at the top of group A.
Fnatic, however, despite their fantastic recent run of form led by Rekkles and Broxah over the weekend, had a three game winning streak stopped abruptly by Roccat.

The Cueto Cup Tournament began on Lucha Underground this week, seeing the competitors in Group A of the tournament facing off to see who would advance to the next round. The episode brought us some interesting matches as well as some storyline focus on the Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Johnny Mundo match that will occur at Ultima Lucha Tres.
The opening match between The Mack and Mala Suerte was hard fought but didn't need to be. Mala Suerte was not put in a position to look strong. He got some offense in during the match of course, preventing it from being a complete squash, yet Mala Suerte gained nothing from this match. The Mack came out a little worse for wear due to taking a long time to beat someone he should have soundly beaten. In a wrestling match, you ideally want to accomplish two things. You want a winner,...

Talk about an emotional homecoming.
Captain Brandon Caldwell with the United States Air Force recently returned from a two-month deployment in Antarctica, coming home to his wife Amanda and their 9-month-old son Reagan, who started wearing glasses shortly after his dad left.
In the video, Brandon holds his son while singing, “Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker’s man,” while Reagan dances excitedly in his dad’s arms and looks up at him.
At one point in the song, the little boy pauses and rests his head against Brandon’s chest, while the proud dad pulls him close and becomes visibly emotional.

The theme of Asian women diving without tanks to collect sea goods has recently surfaced in cinema, with “Ama-san” for Japanese women and this particular one for S. Koreans.
A thorough research
“Breathing Underwater” is very thorough in examining and depicting the Haenyeo , the women-divers of Jeju, since Koh Heeyoung, the director is a native and spent 7 years collecting footage for the documentary.
The procedure and the strict hierarchy are explained quite analytically. These women are actually born into the profession, with the overwhelming majority following their mother’s example. Furthermore, they do not quit their practice until they are very old, with most of them being over 55 and some even surpassing 80.
The women dive without tanks, just with goggles, weight belts, and hoes. They also use a technique when they surface, by whistling in a particular way that lets them expand their lungs’ capacity. Depending on the season, they “hunt” for different species.
