The Robin Hood character has benefited from several cinematographic adaptations. Among the most famous are: Robin Hood (1922) by Allan Dwan, The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) by Michael Curtiz and William Keighley, the Walt Disney Robin Hood (1973), Robin and Marian (1976) by Richard Lester, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) by Kevin Costner, Mel Brooks's satirical Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993) with Cary Elwes, Robin Hood (2010) played by Russell Crowe, or the comedy Robin des Bois, la véritable histoire (2015) with Max Boublil.

The hoodie Taron Egerton is wearing in the movie poster used for promotion purposes is machine stitched in an era when there were no machines to stitch hoodies. (Robin Hood probably didn't even wear a hoodie, but we'll not go into that.)
In South Africa the film was edited in theaters for a 13 rating (after the uncut version was classified 16). The film was later released on uncut on DVD with a 13 rating as the violence was deemed to have less impact outside of a theatrical context.
