A war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown.
As Nottingham is a city full of horses, the film's production also required a number of well-trained horses able to negotiate tight turns. The trainer Laszlo Juhász oversaw a team of more than 70 horses, including a magnificent Black Fresian ridden by the Sheriff of Nottingham and the "Castano" of Robin Hood, a 13-year-old Purebred Spanish (PRE), a breed known for his elegance, intelligence and lush mane.

The hoodie Taron Egerton is wearing in the movie poster used for promotion purposes is machine stitched in an era when there were no machines to stitch hoodies. (Robin Hood probably didn't even wear a hoodie, but we'll not go into that.)
In South Africa the film was edited in theaters for a 13 rating (after the uncut version was classified 16). The film was later released on uncut on DVD with a 13 rating as the violence was deemed to have less impact outside of a theatrical context.
