Tom Atkins: Man of Action (2009)
**** (out of 4)
Excellent interview with character actor Tom Atkins has him talking about some of his most famous films including THE FOG, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, CREEPSHOW, LETHAL WEAPON and of course NIGHT OF THE CREEPS, which is where you can find this featurette. If you're a fan of Atkins then you're really going to love this because it's really a lot of fun as the actor seems very comfortable just sitting around and talking about his career. He tells great stories about each of the film's he is asked about including one for CREEPSHOW where Romero asked him which part he wanted to play and he was letdown because it was already offered to Stephen King. There's some great stuff about working with John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis as well as a nice story about how he learned about the LETHAL WEAPON role. Atkins also comments on what he has been up to in recent years and why Pittsburg means so much to him. One wishes this had been longer but there's no question that fans of the actor are going to love hearing all of these stories.
