When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief, and his friends must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.
Dacre Montgomery toned down his six-pack abs for this project because he thought that his excessively shredded abs that he showed in his previous project, Power Rangers (2017), would not suit the character. He said, "I took a step back. Guys in the '80s weren't super-shredded, so I just did a lot of boxing and my diet was not as good, which made for a more realistic body. So I'm a bit chubbier around the edges." Montgomery was a bit apprehensive about showing a less than perfect body on screen saying, "I was a little bit self- conscious that the whole world is seeing this pudgier version of me than was in Power Rangers," but ultimately felt it was the right look for the character.
In season 2, There are at least two different versions of Billy's blue Camaro used for filming as the vehicle will randomly switch from having power windows (as seen in S2:E2) to having manual crank style windows (as seen in S2:E5).
The Stranger Things opening titles and fonts mimic the film grain and look of 1980's television series opening credits.
