Evie (Morjana Alaoui) has started a new life England, to escape her past. She finds herself caring for John (Mel Raido), a former rock star and tetraplegic. When he’s not making her life a complete misery with his insults, he’s still his usual drinking, drug taking partying self. He even gets regular “treatment” from his former nurse – Molly (Stephanie Thomas) from time to time. Exclusive: Backer of Burn Burn Burn, Tiger Raid and Broken spins off from accountancy firm Nlp.
UK film financier Goldfinch Entertainment has been bought out by its MD Kirsty Bell.
Goldfinch, backed by accountancy firm Nyman Libson Paul (Nlp), was launched in January 2014 as a single Eis company but it has subsequently grown to invest in tens of projects including Burn Burn Burn (pictured), Tiger Raid, My Feral Heart, Hector, Broken, The Carer and The Eichmann Show.
According to Bell and Nlp executives the two firms will maintain a close working relationship.
Goldfinch is now eyeing growth in the TV, animation, music, apps and games sectors.
Bell, a former partner at Nlp, said Goldfinch aims to manage investments of “£150m into somewhere between 100-150 projects” in the next three years.
“Our involvement will become more holistic offering production, editing and sales & distribution expertise and services along with financing and Ep,” she said.

Genre festival reveals masterclasses and film programme.
Horror Channel FrightFest (Aug 25-29) has unveiled the line-up of events and movies for its 2016 edition, set to be held at the Vue cinema in London’s Shepherds Bush.
Screen will host a panel on the future of the UK horror film industry, followed by the first Screen International Horror Rising Star Award [click here for the shortlist].
There will also be a horror writing master class with writer-director James Moran; a women in horror symposium; a special effects demo from maestro Dan Martin; and a discussion by filmmaker Paul Davis – who made John Landis approved doc Beware The Moon - marking the 35th anniversary of An American Werewolf In London.
The festival is also set to screen H.G. Lewis’ 1963 gore classic Blood Feast, which is getting a 4K restoration from Arrow.
The FrightFest audience will be the first in the UK to see The Neighbor, directed by Marcus Dunstan (The Collection).

Alice Lowe, Paul Hyett, The Ford Brothers, Kate Shenton and Shaun Robert Smith have been shortlisted for the inaugural Screen International Horror Rising Star Award.
The award, celebrating the work of emerging talent in genre cinema, has been launched with Horror Channel FrightFest 2016 (Aug 25-29).
The winner will be announced on Aug 28, following a panel discussion on the future of the UK horror film industry moderated by Screen at London’s Vue Cinema in Shepherds Bush – the main hub of the festival.
