Summary
Reviewers say 'Chicago Med' is criticized for its unrealistic medical portrayals and exaggerated drama, especially in staff relationships. The show faces backlash for injecting political agendas and current events, as well as for unrealistic character behavior and rule-breaking without consequences. Some find the repetitive storylines and melodrama off-putting. However, supporters appreciate the emotional intensity and character-driven narratives.

This possibly could be my last season watching this show. It started out good however it is getting to be more like a soap opera than a medical drama. This is the same reason why I stopped watching Grey's Anatomy. I personally like medical programs to have more medicine than romantic melodrama. This is Us is also way too melodramatic.
I wish I could personally fire the casting directors who got rid of Dr. Rhodes, Dr. Reese, Dr. Manning, Dr. Bekker, Dr. Latham, and Dr. Clarke in the earlier seasons and replaced them with the mostly awful cast that is on now.
I love medical shows and still watch this, but Chicago Fire has pulled ahead as my new favorite of the three Wednesday night Chicago shows.
I have been streaming the first three seasons of Chicago Med recently and it was far better in the early days.
On to streaming all of Chicago Fire once I either get to the end of all the Chicago Med episodes or give up in season 7 or 8 due to the cast.

I read other reviews slamming the show and everyone has a right to their opinion. My thought is, if you don't like it, don't watch it. I personally enjoy it, along with the Chicago franchise (Fire&PD). The crossover events are especially fun to watch. Is the use of accurate information on medication always correct? I can't say as I am not a doctor.
I watch it because I like the characters and the stories. I'm sure there could be improvements, as with most tv. But this is not a documentary, its meant for entertainment. At least the characters have back stories. Lives outside the hospital. Dick Wolf has smartly created a network of series that all intermingle and its interesting to see how the New York shows come into play with the Chicago shows. So, just try it.
And I don't mean to offend but to say it's like a soap opera is kinda funny to me because what is Grey's if not a soap? Most medical dramas have an element of such as well as miraculous cures at the end of the hour.
Much as I normally love medical shows...this isn't one of them. Tedious, boring, terrible acting.and totally unrealistic. If I wanted to watch soap opera, I'd choose daytime drama. Whoever is writing these scripts has probably never spent any time in a hospital. Please get new writers or dump this mess!
I do enjoy the show. I'm currently on season 4 so I'm behind. First I can't stand Will. What a jerk. I just want to punch him in the face. Second is Ava. Her voice and accent makes my skin crawl. I like the other characters and the plots. It's not a great show but it's entertaining.

- GoofsMost of the time, when trying to revive a patient with chest compressions, the doctors do them much too fast (about five per second, when CPR guidelines are 100 compressions per minute). Swift, shallow compressions don't allow enough blood and oxygen to circulate through the heart and reach the brain.
- Crazy creditsLorena Diaz(Doris) appears in nearly every episode, but her name is never listed in the opening credits.
