| A Cute Robot E.T./Herbie Story
An entertaining film for fans and youngsters. When it comes to the editing and the story telling I feel it is lacking. There are many scenes where the viewer is left confused wondering or hanging. Some scenes are simply repetitive and I feel not cut smoothly to be cohesive. Bumblebee dies/gets killed and gets resurrected approx 10 times which gets old after a while. John Cena should just stop playing any serious roles. He is funny until he tries to be serious or bring emotions on the screen. Just does not suit him. Hailee delivers a solid performance and definitley is the perfect fit for the role. The Soundtrack is just awesome with the best of the 80ies. Not a "gotta watch it again" movie. The emotional component of the "missing father figure" and the "moving on" aspect is done nicely and gives the film some depth.

Trivia

The transport truck that Bumblebee drives beside at the end of the movie is a replica of the form that Optimus Prime takes in the 1980s which is a Kenworth 100 truck in the Transformers cartoon series.

Quotes

Ratchet: They've broken through the front lines!
Arcee: I've lost contact with the Capitol!
Wheeljack: There's too many of them!
Brawn: Stand fast!

Goofs

Before Charlie finds out Bumblebee is a robot she uses a creeper to look underneath him. There is nowhere near enough clearance under a Beetle to do this without first putting it up on jacks or ramps.

Crazy Credits

Part of the closing credits are a stylish sequence of images in yellow and black.

Alternate Versions

The Australian release was censored; after the film initially received an M rating from the classification board the distributor (Paramount) decided to re-edit the film in order to obtain a more lucrative PG rating. Following some changes made to the film a modified version of the film was submitted to the board, however this modified version was still seen as being too strong originally and received the original M rating given to the film, however following an appeal from Paramount the film was lowered to PG on December 11th with the consumer advice now stating that the film contains "Mild science fiction violence and mild themes. Some scenes may scare young children". Both versions were approved for theatrical release.
