  • Following in Nica Noelle's footsteps, actress/director Dana Vespoi scores high marks with LESBIAN STEPSISTERS, so far a one-off film rather than one of Sweetheart's series.

For some reason more than a dozen of the currently popular lesbian genre stars have turned to directing (Tate, Monet, Cade, Syre, Sage and Annabelle Lee), but I would place Vespoli at the head of the class. She seems more adventurous than most, balancing solid story values (as exhibited in this video) with gonzo forays (see: her FLUID series for Evil Angel).

Pepper Kester shines as an introvert who resents the free-wheeling stepsister Miley May who has moved in with her divorced mom's family after being booted out of the house by dad and his new wife. May (or Mae) has a stage name based on Miley Cyrus but for me the young beauty more closely resembles other stars including Olivia D'Abo and '60s favorite Joey Heatheton.

Pepper spies on Miley making love to busty Veruca James, and gets turned on. She visits her therapist Sovereign Syre, whose attire including fancy high heels indicate she's going to be more than a dispassionate shrink. Pepper relates to her in flashback how she logged on to a porno website and was fascinated by a lesbian scene featuring tattooed Micha Cross and cute Lola Foxx. Their scene is presented in its entirety, technically filler for this movie but arousing in its own right.

Syre ends up seducing her patient, in a well-acted scene with a beautiful maroon color scheme headed up by the couch in her office.

Expecte finale has the two sisters coming to terms, and then humping each other. Only defect here is Miley's porno-speak, yelling "F*ck yeah!" over and over during sex, just like a gonzo veteran would. Bittersweet coda has Miley running away from home several weeks later (narrated, not shown), concluding with Pepper announcing "I miss my stepsister".

I enjoyed this latter-day Sweetheart Video very much, and was especially pleased at its integrated storyline, after so many of the label's programs have become 4- separate-vignette structures, often coming too close to the gonzo approach for comfort.
