Three new films released over the weekend gone by – Guddu Rangeela, Second Hand Husband and Bezubaan Ishq. Out of the three, Guddu Rangeela was the only film that managed collections of some sort. Though reviews for the film were not fantastic across board, like it was for Arshad Warsi-Subhash Kapoor’s last collaboration Jolly Llb, they were still the best of the lot when compared to the other releases. The film showed some escalation in numbers over the weekend and collected around 6 crore.
The film benefits from the fact that its cost is 15 crore (including P&A) and since 9.5 crore have already been recovered through sale of satellite (7.5 crore) and music (2 crore) rights, only 5.5 crore remain to be earned back through theatrical revenue. That should be a cakewalk, hence allowing the film to sail through and get into profit zone.

Three small to mid budget films release this weekend – Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho, Uvaa and Bezubaan Ishq. Between the three, Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho is a concept based film, Uvaa deals with a topical issue and Bezubaan Ishq is a dramatic love triangle. Each of these would be getting a controlled release for itself and the collections would rely on the word of mouth as there is no star value to ensure footfalls from the first show itself.
Between the three films, Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho has been promoted reasonably well. Due to the controversial nature of the film (it deals with a man being accused of raping a buffalo and then asked to marry it!), it has been in news for a while. The film is also being banned from a few centers due to this very reason. It would look at critical acclaim to gain more visibility over the weekend.

Sneha Ullal is back on the Bollywood Radar, after a brief hiatus, the girl who took Bollywood by storm as a 15-year-old starring opposite Salman Khan in Lucky - No Time For Love is back with Bezubaan Ishq which releases this Friday.
Martin D'Souza, who met her 10 years ago, meets up with her again a decade later. The girl is wiser, more mature, and of course is stunning as well. Unlike the unsure girl he met way back then who did not even know to take care of her hair!
Here, he gets her to speak about her love, life, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and films.
Excerpts from an interview:
In Lucky, you had no time for love... Have you fallen in love?
I had all the time for love back then but now I can only see my career. Love for a man would only destroy my career.
