PG-13 | | Action, Horror, Sci-Fi
After escaping an attack by what he claims was a 70-foot shark, Jonas Taylor must confront his fears to save those trapped in a sunken submersible.
At one point, Jason Statham's character, Jonas, jumps into the water and starts singing to himself, "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..." This is an homage to the character Dory in Finding Nemo (2003), which the song comes from.
At one point Jonas threatens Heller stating that, since they're in international waters, he can assault him and get away with it. This is untrue as international waters are not lawless. Ships and ocean-based structures fall under the jurisdiction of and are subject to the laws of the country in which they are registered. Jonas would be held accountable for any crime committed at the research station the same way as if he committed it in the United States (assuming that's where it was registered.)
The foreign language version of the song "Mickey" which appeared earlier in the film plays over the credits.
