After escaping an attack by what he claims was a 70-foot shark, Jonas Taylor must confront his fears to save those trapped in a sunken submersible.
In the book, the Meg only attacked at night since living in the deep water made its eye sensitive to light. It only attacked in daylight when it had been blinded during the course of the book. The movie, however, had the Meg in daylight with no consequence.
Look at the sonar. Let me know what you find.
D'Angelo: So far nothing new, my friend. It just keeps getting worse.
When the Meg chases Jonas and is caught by the cable attached to the ship, it can't reach him as he slowly paddles back underwater. Earlier the Meg easily pulled the entire ship backwards, so it would have no trouble catching Jonas. Even sheer inertia would make sure Jonas was within reach of the monster fish.
The title is the first thing to appear on screen following the opening production company logos.
