I really wish this show would have stayed afloat. It was so underrated anand original and the bromance is so real. A friendship like this does so much for a fun watch and I loved every second.

SnoopyStyle24 February 2019Lifelong best friends Sam Duvet (Sam Richardson) and Tim Cramblin (Tim Robinson) are trying to make their way in the world of local advertising in Detroit. Tim is married to Sam's sister Chrissy. Tim's father was a local advertising legend but those glory days are in the past. Their employees include elderly long-time secretary Sheila Portnadi, film school grad Lea, and Tommy Pencils.
This is fun stupidity. There is a real sense of friendship and a sense of a place. They may not be big names or leading men but their relationship really grows on me. They seem like great guys to go with to a Piston game. There is also the place. For the last few years, Detroit has been sold as a ghost town and urban blight. This version of Detroit is so much more appealing like a small town USA. The city couldn't be more charming and the guys would be good drinking buddies. -
Ulfman50001 March 2017It's not the kind of show where you're going to laugh really hard at anything, but it's the kind of thing where you're laughing the entire time. I find the characters likable, it doesn't rely on being overly offensive, and it's fairly clever.
It's something I find myself enjoying consistently. They don't swing for the fences every time. That means it's not going to dazzle, but they don't ever fail. I hope it gets at least 3 seasons. -
paul-214814 July 2018I don't know how this would play if I didn't come from Detroit, but I do, and I love the many references to Detroit culture: Mort Crim, Vernors, Detroit R&B and Soul Music... The entire cast is terrific but Sam Richardson is one of those brilliant comic actors that comes along every once and awhile, like Pryor and Murphy, who have have instinctive comic timing and charm. He's instantly lovable even while his character is displaying less than a admirable behavior.
This show has its own quirky pacing and self awareness that makes it distinctly it's own. I hope people discover it. It's a perfect little comic gem. -

Two failing Detroit ad-men try to sustain their fathers' ad company, with hilarious results. Sam Richardson is great. I'm broken-hearted that they only made 2 seasons. I've watched and re-watched it many times. -
I LOVE this show. The writing is extremely clever and funny. The relationship between the two lead guys is truly believable. I've worked at a small ad agency, and they get much of the feel of doing local work, although the work seems to be remeniscent I'd what an agency would do in the 80s rather than today. Still, the writing and characters are incredible, and the story arcs that bring clients and others across episodes in hilarious ways shows the level of thought the writers are putting in. It's a great half hour to let loose and enjoy.

With all the mediocrity that garners attention nowadays, this show deserved a bigger audience. Watch "Smilin' Jack" featuring Keegan-Michael Key. It'll make you're day ... every time you watch it.

The show is shot on location in Detroit and the guest stars are usually people from detroit. That's the best part of the show, detroit itself is a character in the show, one that the two stars make fun of in a loving way. Detroit is as essential to Detroiters as New York is to When Harry Met Sally. The adds made in the show are based on the adds the two stars of the show watched growing up in detroit. In real life Tim is married and Sam is single. In real life both of the lead actors are best friends. This show is wonderfully original and surprisingly autobiographical, there's nothing else like it. If you are ready to watch a show that is orriginal, funny, and heartwarming, watch detroiters.

Bryan-22 September 2018I just finished the first season. It's funnier than most shows. The pilot wasn't that great but I'm glad I continued because the 2nd episode was hilarious. I love that Pat Harris has got her first decent acting gig at such an old age. The 2 leads are decent, the writing is the real winner though.
Update: I finished season 2. It stayed consistently funny. Hopefully they'll get a third season. -
cylemmulo19 March 2017Doesn't always represent Detroit the best, but the city has it's fair share of problems so I guess that's okay. The show is just entertaining and funny. The two main characters don't fail to crack me up. The humor kind of reminds me of the sort of Workaholics kind of show. I really hope I see more of Detroiters in the future!

its not a show where you have to watch from the beginning of the season, each episode seems to have its own story. its worth dvr'ing.
Its not racist, like some are saying. Its just funny. -

The stories are great and could be hilarious but the delivery is just like it's making fun of a joke telling a joke. It could be awesome, if these two actors didn't try so damn hard. I watch it to fall asleep. If that helps.

susannathom19 February 2017As an ex-Detroiter, I was really looking forward to another hopefully entertaining series showcasing my old hometown. Another "Hung", I was hoping for. I'd even take a "Detroit 1-8-7", despite the dreariness and negative bias of that particular series.
Instead, I was appalled to see this incredibly stupid, stupid, STUPID, lame video, possibly one of the most imbecilic things I've ever seen on TV. Completely devoid of any humor, it's just a bunch of idiots acting like, well, idiots. Some of the most talentless and uninspired writing I've ever seen in my entire life. The writers got nothing, and it really shows.
Sam Richardson is such an obnoxious, worthless actor, it's literally painful to suffer watching his idiotic behavior that he thinks is funny. There's nothing funny about it, it's just plain stupid.
Where did this moron come from? Where did they find him? And why was he cast? OH, I KNOW, he and his moron sidekick Tim Robinson wrote this revolting garbage and cast themselves as its stars!
For instance, we're supposed to watch the two main idiots play basketball inside their office, risking destroying everything in sight, and this is supposed to be funny? Oh, and it gets even worse ...... apparently completely ignorant of the invention of tempered glass, one of the main idiots is astonished when a glass window in his office doesn't break when something was accidentally thrown at it.
They then proceed to throw everything in the office that isn't nailed down at said glass window, laughing hysterically all the while as the glass continues to resist breaking. Of course, they destroy everything in the office in the process. Oh, my God, this is so funny, what cleverness, what talent, what... what.... what mind-numbing, utterly obscene levels of moronic incompetence at writing and directing and acting and everything else that went into this abomination.
Thanks, Jason Sudeikis, for showing up in the first episode and I guess trying to give it a head start. But you shouldn't have bothered, you and a dozen more genuinely funny and talented comedians couldn't save this utterly unwatchable train wreck of a series.
What fool put up his soon-to-be-parted-with money to finance this completely worthless and thoroughly repulsive idiocy?? -
It's rare to find a comedy show that strikes a perfect balance - the direction, jokes, acting, supporting cast - right to the adorable friendship between the leads.
It doesn't offer the same dark humour as sunny or stupidity of workaholics but hard to imagine not having a good time watching this show. -
I love this show and hope it gets picked up for another season. They are able to skewer Detroit while still obviously loving it. I'm sure all cities have low budget ad agencies to make the kind of ads that Sam and Tim make. Here in Detroit it was always Robinson's Furniture, Mel Farr the Superstar Ford Dealer, and Mr. Belvedere Home Improvement. Sam and Tim make ads for similar business people. Some love them, some hate them, but the two two-bit ad guys are oblivious to haters.
They live next to each other and (spoiler) Tim is married to Sam's sister, who works on the line at Chrysler.
The humor is funny and you don't have to live in Detroit to get it. The cameos and guest stars just add another level of delight. Mort Crim's news bits often tie the whole show together. -

Kinda like a love letter to the good parts of Detrizzle. I could deal with a couple of more seasons of this show. I wish them luck in future projects. They did a good job with this show.

lajanisallen28 April 2017While I can't give this show 10 out of 10, it is funny. I look forward to seeing parts of Detroit, and when I do, I either go "yes", or "awww - they could have skipped that". Either way, I love the characters who remind me of my son and his best friend. (I could see them doing some of these things.) By the way, don't be mean and try to come for my son and his best friend - they are my family. LOL! Spoiler alert (maybe?) My favorite episodes were the birthday party, Devereau wigs and the outsiders moving into the building. Hysterical!

If the comedy of the first 20 minutes of this show which made me laugh is a product of what is to be for the future of this show then you have a WINNER.
