When Owen's paralysis wears off, he is only a few inches from lava at most and yet he does not suffer any ill effects. Not to mention he was lying on ground that, apparently, was hot enough to cause discomfort to a large dinosaur's feet (if the calm Sinoceratops suddenly stomping the ground before running off is any indication). Even more so with Baryonyx that sneaks up on Claire and Franklin, which takes lava in the face and only flinches.
