  • Like the monthly vicarious jolt of receiving Playboy Magazine in the mail that I enjoyed when I was young, the monthly edition of Girlfriends Films' WOMEN SEEKING WOMEN series remains fresh and satisfying. With new talent constantly emerging on the XXX lesbian scene, and a formula of girl/girl seduction that never gets old, this series should hit volume #200 with relative ease, in 2022.

This edition introduces a newbie Lynn Vega, who I just added to IMDb's listings, and the only other credit I could find for her is in WET FOR WOMEN 2 from Girlfriends Films, not listed yet in IMDb. She's cast opposite ultra-busty and big- eyed WSW regular Mindi Mink, who consoles the youngster who's having boyfriend problems. This is a truly slow-burn sequence, amounting to the longest seduction sequence I've ever seen on screen - full 70 minutes from start to finish. Mindi never pressures the girl and for a patient viewer this (perhaps experimental on the part of the uncredited GF filmmakers) sequence is rewarding.

Before this finale which is as long in itself as entire porn films of old, there are 3 other quality vignettes presented, amounting to 198 minutes of running time.

Opener has Dana DeArmond seducing Kara Price, who's been complaining about her step-mom. As usual, the reluctant lesbian of the pair is more than equal in lovemaking once the smooching breaks the ice and nature takes its course.

India Summer guest stars (uncredited) meeting with Mindi, and Aria Aspen is identified as India's daughter (that would make India a child bride). Bree Daniels tells tales about Mindi's daughter Shyla (Shyla Jennings, who does not appear on screen in this volume). The discussion turns to "cuddle therapy", a mysterious treatment recommended for curing incipient lesbians, as the filmmakers continue their habit of heavily tongue-in-cheek satire of antiquated attitudes in society (supposedly still very much held in small communities like this fictional setting of Thornhill). With incriminating photos circulating of her in Sapphic clinches, Shyla seems a target for such therapies.

Bree herself is prey to "same sex urges", and a same-age sex scene with Aria follows.

The third vignette is a shameless self-plug for Girlfriends Films, as Dani Daniels finds DVDs from the company in an underwear drawer in Bree's room. The casting of two actresses named Daniels was a mite confusing for me here, but it isn't quite clear their fictional relationship. At any rate, Dani confronts Bree's mom Ashley Graham and shows her the treasure trove of lesbian pornography, including an illustrated book on "lesbian sex positions". The duo of Ashley and Dani get on Bree's bed, fascinated by the book's photos.

They start kissing and then make love, with an emphasis on soft-core content this time. When Ashley exposes her huge natural breasts it's quite a turn-on.

I enjoy the fact that these lesbian dramas are allowed to unfold at a natural pace, almost impervious to the usual restrictions of editing and filmmakers'/TV show runners' inclination to cut, cut and cut (reflected now in spades thanks to the cop-out of "we'll just include this great excised scene on the DVD release as a bonus"). In an odd way, the advent of this video genre has given American cinema/video a belated counterpart to the European cinematic model of art film directors like Jacques Rivette and Chantal Akerman who often handed in lengthy films (3 hours or longer) and were not forced to truncate them since their producers were simpatico.
