  • The host is clearly not well educated and his general knowledge does not include a good understanding of the naval ships of the time. For instance, the British battleships did not use "cannons" that fired "bombs". This kind of thing is embarrassingly stupid. Also, he obviously ducked out during his English classes. The script should have been edited before the guy hit the studio. Beyond this, he forgets to mention who all the Russians were - no names, no affiliations. Who were these guys? Why did they (such as the driver of the submersible who appears fifty time) kept anonymous.

If you can overlook the above, it's an entertaining film. Naturally, as a TV documentary, there is a ton of repeated content and the thing could have been cut to an hour without losing anything.
  • The visuals and historical retelling was amazing, as was the underwater footage of this grand old lady. That being said, the gentleman narrating and "exploring" the wreck was completely insufferable.

Hes trying way to hard to sound like the next Robert Ballard, or Jacques Cousteau. The entire theme of his narration is what caused the ship to sink so fast? Which he gets wrong right off the bat, saying it was a German U-Boat. Wrong, it was a sea mine that blew a hole in the side of the ship causing it to fill much faster than the Titanic. He completely lost all credibility with me when he claimed that WWI broke out with the assassination of Arch Duke "Fernidad" sorry Dirk Pitt, its "Ferdinand".

I truly think this was a pretty decent documentary ruined by a clueless "Maritime Historian" who wants underwater fame and glory getting spoon fed wrong information by people searching Wiki for tips.
