The Emmys slipped to a record low 11.9 million total viewers on Sunday, when it battled for eyeballs against the solid “Sunday Night Football.” In the key 18-49 demographic, the best-of-tv event netted a 3.6 rating, which is down 14 percent from last year’s 4.2. Of course, the 2014 awards show aired on NBC on a Monday in August — so not against TV’s top primetime broadcast like last night’s.
While maybe not such a ratings smash hit, the 67th Emmy Awards accounted for more than 1 million tweets, which were viewed over 188 million times.

Viola Davis stirred us down to our ankles. An obscure True Detective reference made us guffaw. And host Andy Samberg did something really naughty with a super-sized Emmy.
