| EMILY BLUNT IS PERFECT AS MARY POPPINS!
This film will be a classic one day! It was great! Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins was the only person I would have picked for the role. Its a great movie! I even got tear eyes .... Overall this is Disney as its best.... GO SEE IT! Its not going to be the original film, but this is something new and exciting. Don't go into this film this is going to be the same film.... treat this as a new experience. THE MUSIC and SCORE was FANTASTIC. The movie will put a smile on your face and make you feel like a kid again. That's what a movie should do.... GO UNDER THE LOVELY LONDON SKY .... imagine the impossible.

Trivia

Author P.L. Travers was very critical of the first film, especially the music and animation. However, towards the end of her life, she authorized the creation of a stage production by Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Walt Disney Theatrical based on the film and her novels, with the stipulation that no one involved in the creation of the film (particularly the Sherman brothers) be involved, and even included these requirements in her will. Although she passed away in 1996, the play successfully debuted in 2004. Largely as a result of this reconciliation, Walt Disney Studios was able to restart negotiations with Travers' estate, which resulted in authorization for this film.

Quotes

Goofs

In the London street scenes, several of the buses shown are too old for the 1930s setting. For instance, the buses are shown with outside staircases to the upper deck, whereas those designs (from post-WWI) had been superseded by then by designs with enclosed staircases.

Crazy Credits

There is a special thanks to former Tonight Show host Jey Leno in the credits. According to Lin-Manuel Miranda, "I asked about this when I saw that! Apparently there is a car sound effect from the 1930's that they could not replicate, and someone realized Jay Leno had the car they needed. To record the sound effect. "
