The film depicts the US-Mexico border near McAllen, Texas and Reynosa, Tamaulipas (Mexico) as a barbed wire fence separating both countries. In reality, the border between the US and Mexico is an internationally known body of water: the Rio Grande (Rio Bravo for Mexicans). The river itself is hundreds of feet wide, and at no point, for hundreds of miles near McAllen, Texas, are there any fences or walls to outline the border between both countries.
There's a dedication part-way though the end credits: "In loving memory of Jóhann Jóhannsson"
