One night the set/crew did 36 setups in 10 hours. Steven Soderbergh was able to move fast by using mostly available light, not having a video village and using a crew who has worked with him for years.
In 2015, all the scenes set in the past were shot in a row. Then in 2016, the scenes set four years later were shot.
Several actors from The Knick, which was previously directed by Steven Soderbergh, appear. They include Frederick Weller, Jennifer Ferrin, Jeremy Bobb, Maya Kazan, Michael Cerveris, Ben Livingston and Chris Sullivan.
