“Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams is set to lead Prime Video’s Italian original “Costiera” which unfolds on Italy’s iconic Amalfi Coast.
The high-end show is an English-language action-drama with comedic elements directed by Emmy winner Adam Bernstein, which is currently shooting on location.
In “Costiera,” Williams is playing an Italian-American former Marine named Daniel De Luca, who is a problem solver in one of the most exclusive hotels in the world in Positano. He is a guest of the owner because Dd, as everyone knows him, is the only person who caught a glimpse of the man who may have kidnapped his daughter, and therefore is the only person who may be able to hunt the kidnapper down. Dampyr is a new horror-fantasy movie on Netflix based on an Italian comic book series. The movie boasts a cast of both recognizable and little-known actors, creating an interesting ambiance. The main character, Harlan Draka, played by Wade Briggs, discovers his supernatural powers when faced with real vampires.
Recently, Netflix added a new horror-fantasy movie to its roster entitled Dampyr, and this movie's cast were definitely successful when it came to bringing this story to life. The movie Dampyr is based on an Italian comic book series written by Sergio Bonelli Editore. It tells the story of Harlan, a con-man who pretends to rid towns of vampires. However, when he and his friends come face-to-face with real creatures of the night, Harlan must hone the supernatural powers he didn't know he had in order to survive.
The cast of Dampyr is fairly small, but there are some recognizable names involved.

Easily the most anticipated Star Wars series of 2023 is the upcoming Ahsoka show on Disney+. Starring Rosario Dawson as the iconic character that debuted in 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the show is adjacent to The Mandalorian and is set after Return of the Jedi. Several classic characters from throughout the franchise are making their return in Ahsoka, but there's one character whose presence will be part of a notable actor's swan song.
Ray Stevenson portrays one of the characters in Ahsoka, with the show being the first release featuring the departed actor since his death in May 2023. Given his pedigree, the hype surrounding the series itself and the fact that it's a posthumous performance, many fans want to know just who he plays and how it relates to the galaxy far, far away. Thus, here's a look at who Ray Stevenson plays on Ahsoka and how he'll be...

The “erosion of the power of writers in the U.S.” can serve as a “learning opportunity” for European storytellers, according to The X Files EP Frank Spotnitz.
Spotnitz called for a “set of core values that we can strive and live up to” alongside “practical concrete strategies in countries where resources are in short supply” to improve the quality of TV writing in Europe – the continent in which he has lived for the past 13 years and runs his production outfit, Big Light Productions.
Speaking at Nem in Dubrovnik, Spotnitz criticized the “folly” of American producers for “eroding the power of writers” in the U.S.
“If U.S. studios succeed in suppressing the power of American writers they may well save money but they also may well reduce the quality and long term success of their own businesses,” he added. “The folly of American producers can serve as a...

“If you want to make a TV drama about opium smokers, sadomasochists and imperial slavery in the 19th century, then write your own,” whines The Daily Mail‘s Peter Hitchens about Steven Knight’s new Great Expectations adaptation, presumably forgetting that in 2017, Knight did exactly that in 8-part Gothic Regency thriller Taboo.
Knight’s previous series starring Tom Hardy, bleeds into his take on Charles Dickens’ class and snobbery novel, which loses the comedy and grimes up the characters with the addition of adult content. Great Expectations returns to Knight’s constant theme of social mobility, moving away from ones roots, and the upper classes being mad, evil bastards, as explored in six series of Peaky Blinders.

New Disney+ original series “The Good Mothers,” which provides a fresh female take on the Calabrian mob, marks a case of truly organic collaboration between the U.K. and Italy to ensure that a great story didn’t risk losing an iota of authenticity.
The show, which is competing in the “Berlinale Series” section, depicts the Calabrian mob through the prism of three daring women inside the ‘Ndrangheta organized crime clan who collaborated with a female prosecutor and withstood the consequences of their attempt to escape its iron grip. It is produced produced by Juliette Howell, Tessa Ross and Harriet Spencer for London’s House Productions, which originated the project, and by Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Gangarossa for Rome’s Wildside, a Fremantle company, which helped to firmly root the story in its Calabrian context.

This article contains spoilers for Enola Holmes 2.Netflix's Enola Holmes 2 features an all-star cast, as it continues to expand the world of Sherlock Holmes' younger sister. Viewers may know her best as Eleven, but Millie Bobby Brown considers Enola Holmes 2 the "most important moment in [her] career" so far. This is because she isn't just the star of this movie; she's also the producer, and has been involved with the project at every level.
Based on the best-selling novels by Nancy Springer, Netflix's Enola Holmes films shine a surprisingly modern light on the late Victorian era. The first film used real-world events surrounding the Great Reform Bill as a backdrop, and the sequel ties in to the Matchgirls' Strike of 1888 - a key moment in British social history. This time of social upheaval is navigated by Enola Holmes, Sherlock's younger sister, as she attempts to build a life for herself in the city.

The following contains spoilers for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power star Charlie Vickers wants to play Mr. Freeze in a Batman movie. Vickers this year won the hearts of Rings of Power fans as elf warrior Galadriel’s unlikely ally Halbrand. But those same fans were in for a shock as it was later revealed that Halbrand is actually the evil Sauron.
To say playing Sauron in a Lord of the Rings TV show is a big break for Vickers might be a gross understatement. Prior to his casting as Halbrand/Sauron, the actor had just a few credits to his name, having starred in the feature films Palm Beach and Death in Shoreditch and the TV series Medici. Exclusive: Louis Partridge, the British actor who garnered international recognition for his turn as Viscount Tewkesbury in Enola Holmes, has signed with WME for representation in all areas.
Harry Bradbeer’s film based on the YA books of the same name by Nancy Springer centers on Sherlock Holmes’ teen sister Enola (Millie Bobby Brown), who sets off to find her mother when she discovers that she’s missing, and becomes a super-sleuth in her own right, as she outwits her famous brother and unravels a dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord. Following its debut on Netflix in September of 2020, it became one of the streamer’s most-watched original films ever, with an estimated 76 million households taking it in, over the course of its first four weeks of release. The success of the film has spurred a sequel that is currently in production, which will see Partridge reprise his role opposite Brown and Henry Cavill.

Gaumont, the venerable French film and television group behind “The Intouchables” and “Lupin,” is launching in Italy with Marco Rosi, an industry veteran joining from Lux Vide, and a bullish first slate.
The company is already well-established in the U.S., the U.K. and Germany. Its expansion in Italy represents a logical step in Gaumont’s global strategy since the country ranks as a key European market and boasts a fertile ground for content creation.
Rosi, who was Lux Vide’s head of international co-productions and worked on prestige Italian series such as “Medici,” “Devils” and “Leonardo,” has been appointed general manager of Gaumont’s Italian operation. As such, he will lead a dedicated team across development and production and will report directly to Christophe Riandee, vice CEO of Gaumont. The banner will be headquartered in Rome, and will be focused on Italian-language TV series. Gaumont suggested that it...
