A financial adviser drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder money to appease a drug boss.
Lake of the Ozarks, a man-made lake, is often referred to as the "Redneck Riviera" and attracts an estimated 5 million holidaymakers annually. It is also nicknamed "The Magic Dragon" because of its serpentine configuration that stretches 92 miles from end to end with a shoreline greater than that of California.
In several episodes, license plates on the Missouri cars start with a number instead of a letter. In Missouri, license plates can only start with numbers on trucks instead of cars. (They can even be transferred to an SUV from a truck from the original owner in case of an automobile purchase, but never to a car).
