After gaining 28 kg. for the initial shoot, Aamir Khan lost 25 kg. in 20 weeks to portray the younger(25 years old) character of Mahavir Singh Phogat.
The movie is a real life story based on Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained "dangal" to 6 girls, 4 of them were his very own while 2 were that of his brother. Interestingly, all of them won medals at some or the other level!
Lead actor Aamir Khan and director Nitesh Tiwari reportedly auditioned 3000 girls for the role of Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat, the two daughters of Mahavir Singh Phogat.

First she appeared in Dangal in 2016, where Aamir plays her father and coach. Secondly, she stars in Secret Superstar, of 2017, also with Aamir, playing her tuition father.
