Near the beginning of the film, a pack of white dogs walk up to a bag of garbage that was dumped in front of them before being confronted by Chief's pack. The film then cuts to a wide-shot of the packs snarling at each other from either side with the bag in the middle, even though it was right in front of the white-furred pack in the previous shot.
At the end of the movie Anjelica Huston, who is a long time collaborator with Wes Anderson, is credited as the "Mute Poodle".
