Simon Spier keeps a huge secret from his family, his friends, and all of his classmates: he's gay. When that secret is threatened, Simon must face everyone and come to terms with his identity.
Love, Simon (2018) marks the second time major studio 20th Century Fox has made a film that showcases a sympathetic portrayal of a leading homosexual character coming to terms with his orientation and ending on a happy note. The first was Making Love (1982) in 1982.
Wonder Woman in the hizzy!
When Simon eats with his family, Simon's phone says that it's 3:20, yet when he goes outside to read Blue's email a moment later in the patio, it's pitch black dark.
At the end of the closing credits, on the right side of the screen, it reads "#gtfo". This is an internet initialism for "get the fuck out." It is, in effect, telling audience members to leave the theater.
