  • Shaun-the-sheep connives to bring three incorrigible llamas to the farm, to his (and everyone else's) regret. The semi-voiceless film seems to be just an extended episode of the titular ovine's TV show with a rudimentary plot and a lot of sight gags. While fun and well made, the cleverness of Aardman Animations' 'Wallace and Gromit' series (or even the first 'Shaun the Sheep' movie (2015)), is missing.
  • It is another brilliant Shaun the Sheep short, which is yet again funny and enjoyable for all the family. The short has many Easter egg clips, from other Aardman shorts, and other props from different Shaun the Sheep episodes. Plus this short is one funny one, but with a nice message hidden within, it may seem like a good idea at the beginning but it may not have been a good idea later on.
  • This is what happens when you associate yourself with bad company. The episode was fun & enjoyable. Great for both kids & adults.
  • Although it has taken me ages to watch it, this Shaun the Sheep special was one of the pieces of event television from Christmas 2015. This is not new territory for Aardman, since for many years Wallace & Gromit were the highlight of the Christmas scheduling. Shaun's outing is not to that level, although it is still fun. The film is aimed very much at younger audiences, and those seeking silly fun. As such there is not a lot of refinement to the plot or events; the farmer gets some llamas, they cause chaos, Shaun and the others sort it out. The end.

In doing this there are not really any big clever set-pieces but generally there is a fun sense of action and physical comedy. For sure it is not The Wrong Trousers or anywhere near it, and it does not in any way have the intelligence and wit of the Shaun the Sheep movie, but it works well for what it is. Solid and honest fun which is very well made (the animation is always a wonder) and delivers fairly clearly on what it wants to do.
  • Big fan of shaun the sheep - watched it uncountlessly growing up. Amazing clay-motion animation style as always, looks clean and effortless - compliment well together with the country-esque sound scores/effects. Definitely give a country farm feelings for the viewers. Unlike the series, this short special episode for me does look smoother and better - especially at the pool scene, the water splashes look terrific. Memorable intro song and shaun's giggles. Nothing special on the storyline (same formula as the episodial series) featuring the troublesome trio of illamas - bringing nothing but just troubles to other animals and the farmer. These illamas are big bullies and bad influences. It was fun and very entertaining. Highly Recommended.
  • Oh those naughty llamas! My baby loves this and seems to be hypnotised like the llamas!

The Farmer and Bitzer head for the Country Fair with stowaway Shaun the Sheep. At the fair, three llamas are up for auction. They are entranced by playing a pan flute, but goes crazy when the music stops. Shaun does the Farmer dirty and fakes his winning bid. The llamas break the pan flute and wreck havoc along with Shaun. The other sheep are not too happy.

This is a simple Aardman adventure. Shaun is being a mischievous sheep. The llamas are good chaos agents. I like the pan flute. Shaun learns a lesson and in the end, he saves the day. It wraps up nicely. It's a nice thirty minutes special.

"Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer's Llamas" is a British animated short film that premiered roughly 2 weeks ago on television. "Shaun the Sheep" is a contender for "Best Animated Feature" at the Oscars this year, or probably only for the nomination, but this still this makes it a great year for Aardman as the film has also received mostly positive reviews. So here is a little add-on for the holidays 2015. Sadly, I must say that the quality from this short film does not get me interested in watching the full feature movie. First of all, I don't mind the animation. The sheep look good as always and the llamas sure do as well. My problem was really more with the story and the comedy or lack there of. The makers here certainly got mixed up "loud" with "funny". A very noisy little movie, but sadly it never really delivers on a comedic level for me here. Quite a pity as I liked the characters here for sure. And I actually really liked some of the earlier "Shaun the Sheep" television stuff from years ago. This now addition to the franchise is certainly not on par. Most definitely not the last film on one of the world's most famous sheep. I really hope they will step things up in the future again. Not recommended.

I have been a long-time admirer of the creatures created by Nick Park, so I decided to watch this short with a very positive bias. The visuals keep their characteristic style and the production value is at the expected level. It was not until half-way into the story that I got an uncomfortable feeling... By the end it was clear to me that the short presents (exotic) outsiders in a very bad light, and the only solution to the problems that they certainly bring is to get rid of them as soon as possible.

    (spoilers ahead)

Here is a summary of the plot: Llamas (fairly exotic south-American animals for the British countryside) are brought to the farm. At first charm everyone with their care-free attitude; they are playful and relaxed, and extremely good at football. There is some disruption, and maybe even a popularity struggle with Shaun who attempts to keep the status quo. As the days go by, everyone realises the llamas are lazy, rude, messy and inconsiderate and slowly take advantage of the resources of the farm, unwilling to share with the other animals. The situation gets gradually more chaotic and Shaun decides to do something about it: get rid of the llamas. Working together with Bitzer, Shaun and the sheep manage to trap the llamas. The llamas are auctioned, and despite no-one wanting to have them, the "evil" farmer is tricked and ends up getting all of them.
  • Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer's Llamas is an excellent stop motion animated film with wonderful production quality and nostalgic storytelling.

The portrayal of Llamas as scary and mean spirited seems unnecessary and it makes children hostile towards those wonderful animals.
