A dark comedy
This film tells the story of a young man, who is traumatised by the war he takes part in. After going home, he suffers from severe post traumatic stress disorder. To heal his fractured mind, he assumes the identity of his late uncle who was a singer.
"Everything is Broken up and Dances" has a rather cryptic title, which does not give anything away. Though I do not the relationship between the title and the story, but that doesn't stop anyone from enjoying the film. The psychiatric symptoms are quite disturbing, and the method break it is unconventional. There is comedy in the dark drama, mostly in the scene where Nony's relatives telling him about uncle Amnon. The wild imagination leads to unexpectedly comedic results. It is also sweet and ironic that he gets himself further in the post traumatic state.
It is a dark comedy with nice songs. I enjoyed it.
