This episode opens as the last one closed, with Brock's head splattered all over the road like a ripe watermelon. Ash makes a futile effort to piece his old mans mangled head together, but the possessed Delta returns to make even more of a mess.

Director Michael J. Bassett then abandons the gore in favour of action, as Ruby and Kelly arm themselves and go looking for Ruby's evil spawn, and Ash pursues his car to the town's Demolition Derby arena for a final showdown. The pace is frenetic and the thrills well handled by Bassett, especially Ash's battle with his demonic car, our hero leaping onto the hood of the vehicle and thrusting his chainsaw into it. To be honest, though, I did find myself longing for some severed limbs or decapitated deadites to punctuate the screeching of wheels and the roaring of the Delta's engine. Unfortunately, Episode 4 is a fairly dry affair, one that ends with Pablo opening a portal and casting the Necronomicon into Hell. Is that a good idea? I'm guessing probably not.

    Warning: Spoilers
A lesser episode. Too much focus on the possessed car here which was already done in the previous episode. Plenty of action but it all feels very superficial which is a shame.

Maybe not another eyeball, but another brain (meaning scriptwriter) would help. Because this episode is the 101 definition of filler: nothing really happens and just the charisma of the characters keeps things going.

The Delta is still possessed, Pablo and Ash on a hunt to stop it, a hunt that pretty fast becomes a rescue mission, Pablo inside the car, and Ash joining forces with Chet (meaning taking Chet's car and putting his foot in Chet's face). Kelly and Ruby go for a silly trip to the building where Ruby's children are staying, just chilling.

The first part of the team is just OK. The evil car is a silly and not very interesting plot development. It is great to see Ted Raimi again (just not seemingly caring about what acting means) but he is not offering much to the show right now (when he, as Campbell, are at their best at being silly and tongue in cheek). It has no much in plot or anything at all.

But at least it is better than the lame Kelly & Ruby side adventures in the creepy building. They go, the are surrounded by the 'children', they shoot a lot to nothing in particular just to let the viewer see something of what's happening, being all so dark and inscrutable, they kill the 'children'. That's basically all that happens: DeLorenzo and Lawless standing up in the middle of the screen shooting and nothing in particular.

Too bad that the show has lost its focus again.

After the Delta's rampage in the last episode, Ash attempts to tame his baby. Pablo gets locked in the car with a chick who was already trapped inside, and the Necronomicon starts to play its games with Pablo once again.

Meanwhile Kelly and Ruby team up to hunt down and kill the rest of her 'children', which they manage to do so.

Neither segment was really that interesting, and overall it's a so-so episode. Kelly and Ruby's scenes were more of the same of what we've already seen and there was nothing particular note-worthy of Ash's chase of the Delta. The episode wasn't scary and nor was in particularly funny. It wasn't bad, it was just…kind of there, hovering between the world of mortals and the realm of the Kandarian demon.
