Taste

JoyBear is British for XXX pantomime, certainly the most obscure of modern genres. I enjoy watching their occasional film release but wonder what this label is all about.

Their tag line is "Raunchy films for her and for him", squarely aimed at the couples market. But why no dialog? This peculiar insistence on narration when the subject matter is fairly realistic seems arbitrary and renders "Taste" and its brethren as highly specialized entertainment.

Ava Dalush stars a chef Audrey, but voice over artist Elie Cornelius does her talking on the soundtrack. The five sex vignettes represent, somewhat metaphorically but with literal overtones, the five courses of a meal prepared in the kitchen by Dalush with romance on her mind.

Unknowns who look like non-pros (Bererdou and Adreena Winters, latter appearing in several "real-life" roles on video) hump in a movie theater after the show ends, supposedly inspired by Ava's bruschetta. I had never heard of this bread-like edible considered an aphrodisiac, but filmmaker Justine Mii is accorded considerable poetic license.

Second course of lobster bisque inspires bald chef Kane Turner to hump waitress Alex Angel in the restaurant's function room. She's attractive, but the dominant contrast in this scene is Kane's smoothly shaved groin -he's an actor I've only seen in several Kendo features.

Tuna as third course inspires a lesbian interlude with Jess West and Ava herself in a flashback. The following pasta is served to restaurant critics (and real-life married couple) Jasmine Jae and Ryan Ryder, inspiring footsie under the table and cfnm style humping. From here on the film turns into Jazz Porn, with an evocative musical score.

Finale is ice cream for dessert accompanied by interracial sex, as big-dicked Antonio Black does his number on Dalush. Here and elsewhere we're treated to lilting music a la Django Reinhardt in Louis Malle's classic "Murmur of the Heart", so I was won over by this soufflé of a porn film.
