Fact-based drama set during the 1967 Detroit riots in which a group of rogue police officers respond to a complaint with retribution rather than justice on their minds.
Second 2017 film to feature the song "Nowhere to run" by Martha and the vandellas. Edgar Wright's 2017 heist film "Baby Driver" also features this song in its soundtrack.
I'm just gonna assume you're all criminals.
The Algiers Motel is depicted as being across a wooded city block, on a parallel street, to the Great Lakes Mutual Insurance building being guarded by police and the National Guard, and that the troops and police could see the motel and the windows of the Annex house straight on, because the motel faced the front of that building. However, the Great Lakes building is actually on the same side of the same street, Woodward Ave, as the location of the Algiers, and right next door. The building does not face the Algiers, and people in front of the building would not have been able to see the front of the motel or the Annex house, at least not at the clear angle depicted in the film, nor would anyone in the Annex house have been able to see the front of the Great Lakes building in order to play at "shooting" at them.
