Vin Diesel is asking Universal Studios to tell fans when the next Fast & Furious movie will be released. He also hinted that something special might come before the next main film, Fast X: Part 2.
Diesel has played Dominic Toretto, or “Dom,” since the first Fast & Furious movie came out in 2001. He returned once again in Fast X, which was released in 2023. That film is part of the final chapter of the franchise.
The story is expected to end with Fast X: Part 2. However, last month, Diesel teased something else might come first — a special project like Los Bandoleros, the short film that came out before Fast & Furious (2009).

If there’s one thing the Fast and Furious franchise has mastered, it’s reinvention. What started in 2001 as a movie about street racing and DVD player heists somehow morphed into a billion-dollar saga where cars fly, submarines chase Lamborghinis, and Vin Diesel defeats helicopters with a pair of Dodge Chargers. Over 10 movies (and counting), we’ve seen everything from rooftop chases in Rio to family barbecues that feel just as intense as the action scenes.
And through it all, Dom Toretto has reminded us, repeatedly, in case we forgot, that nothing is more important than family.
Of course, not every Fast & Furious movie is a nitrous-fueled masterpiece. Some entries turned the franchise into cinematic gold, while others, well, let’s just say they were running on fumes. The early movies were all about the underground racing scene, but as the franchise grew, so did its ambitions. By Fast Five,...

Paul Walker’s final film, Furious 7, turned ten this year, and it has been re-released in the theatres in China. Vin Diesel’s film has earned solid numbers at the box office in the mainland. Walker passed away while filming this installment, and his brothers Caleb and Cody helped complete the remaining scenes of the late actor. This caused a delay in the film’s release. Despite having opened at pretty much the same level as last year's The Beekeeper, action star Jason Statham's latest film, A Working Man, hasn't had quite as successful a theatrical run. At least, not yet. The movie experienced steeper falls than The Beekeeper, which opened to an unusually enthusiastic audience response. Like A Working Man, that movie was directed by David Ayer; it served as his long-awaited return to form following the critical drubbing of Suicide Squad eight years prior. A Working Man was positioned as their big reunion, but for some reason, audiences appear to have decided to wait for it to hit home video.
With $33 million domestically and another $26 million from overseas markets, A Working Manhas so far grossed a total of $59 million worldwide. It should pass the $60 million mark by Monday. At the same time in its run, The Beekeeper grossed nearly $10 million more. It ended...

In the early 1990s, filmmaker Sydney Lumet put an idea in stuntman Jack Gill’s head: stunt people ought to have an Oscars category.
Gill met with the then-Academy leadership as the opening salvo in what would become a decades long odyssey. “They said, ‘Ok great. It will probably take three to five years. Are you ready to put that much effort into it?’” recalls Gill. Heck, yeah, he was. “Now here we are, 34 years later.”
Today, Gill and the stunt community are celebrating Thursday’s news that, finally, stunts will be recognized in 2028 with a stunt design Oscar.
Gill, as well as countless others, pushed the boulder up the hill, but the effort was supercharged in recent years thanks to stuntpeople such as The Fall Guy filmmaker David Leitch gaining more clout in Hollywood as he became an A-list director. Jason Momoa has done it all. His breakout role came with the role of Khal Drogo in the HBO hit series Game of Thrones, which propelled him into superstardom, with several action, comedy, and superhero roles to follow, including the leading role as Aquaman.
Momoa has proven to be a bankable movie star, and his roles have led to over $4.5 billion at the worldwide box office (via The Numbers). His projects haven't always been a hit with the critics, but he has always drawn people to the theaters. With the surprising success of the critically panned A Minecraft Movie, Jason Momoa continued an exciting Rotten Tomatoes trend for the audience scores.

A Minecraft Movie took a colossal step for video game adaptations this weekend en route to one of the biggest box office openings of all time. Jack Black’s latest video game movie with Jason Momoa opened with a colossal $157 million at the domestic box office and another $144 million from international markets, giving it a worldwide total of $301 million. This $157 million domestically is more than the entire domestic box office haul of the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which exited theaters in 2020 after collecting $146 million. Sonic also added $156 million from international markets to push its global total to $302 million, only $1 million ahead of A Minecraft Movie. Minecraft will move past Sonic’s overall global total when the numbers for Monday, April 7 come in.

Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw has become an integral member of the "Fast & Furious" family. He's even received his own spinoff adventure at this point, having starred in 2019's "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw." It used to be a point of contention that the villainous mercenary turned Toretto family ally was forgiven so easily after being responsible for the death of fan-favorite Han (Sung Kang). "F9," however, somewhat cleared him of that charge real quick. Now, Deckard is just another member of the team, so much so it's easy to forget how explosive his first appearance was.
"Fast & Furious 6" was originally meant to serve as Han's final journey before the events of "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," where he initially met his end. So, when the mid-credits scene started replaying Han's deadly crash, it meant that something else was right around the corner. The electricity in...

A Minecraft Movie hits theaters this week, carrying massive box office expectations that could shape the future of Warner Bros.’ leadership. With the studio desperate for a win after recent high-profile flops.
The review embargo has finally been lifted following a slew of mixed social media reactions and the reviews are mixed. Some critics think A Minecraft Movie is a shallow, corporate cash grab that lacks the creativity and fun of the game. Many say it feels empty, like it’s just using the Minecraft name to make money instead of telling a great story.
Some found it boring, frustrating, and aimed only at kids, with little for adults to enjoy. Others felt it copied parts of the game’s look but didn’t capture its real sense of adventure. Overall, they see it as a safe, uninspired movie that doesn’t take risks or do anything special.

Jason Momoa is returning to Apple TV+ in an epic new historical drama and we’ve got a first look!
Jason Momoa has blossomed into one of the most reliable TV and movie stars in Hollywood. Two decades after his breakout turn in Baywatch: Hawaii, followed by Stargate: Atlantis, Momoa is now a huge star, mostly for playing Aquaman in the Dceu, Dune, and the villain in Fast X.
Momoa is also known for his TV work, including playing Khal Dogo in Game of Thrones, the crime drama Frontier, and the Apple TV+ sci-fi drama See. That adventure took place in a distant future where a plague renders humanity blind. Momoa played a tribal leader protecting a pair of sighted children with a good three-season run.
Now, Momoa is coming back to Apple TV+ in the new historical drama Chief of War. The first look promises another great turn for the action star!

Fast fam, a lot is brewing for the upcoming Fast X: Part 2. The highly anticipated feature in the franchise will be the beginning of the end of the road for the long-running franchise and the Toretto family. It seems like Vin Diesel is leaving no stones unturned to dish out a full dose of nostalgia as he keeps posting new behind-the-scenes details to keep the fans updated.
In a new Instagram post, the actor is seen donning a Toretto’s Garage t-shirt that elaborates on the themes of the franchise with words, heart, legacy, and family. The caption doesn’t give away anything as Diesel wrote, “Grateful and blessed…” which he always is when it comes to the Fast & Furious franchise. Not to sound like a broken record, but it was another not-so-great turnout at the box office. Domestic ticket sales for 2025 are currently pacing around 7% behind 2024 after several terrible weekends at the multiplex in a row. We needed a hero, as it were, and we got one in the form of Jason Statham. The action star has now added yet another hit to his name with "A Working Man." It's not a massive success, admittedly, but the industry should take any wins it can get at this point in time.
Directed by David Ayer ("Suicide Squad"), "A Working Man" topped the charts domestically with an estimated $15.2 million box office debut. That was a better than expected start for the action flick and was good enough to dethrone Disney's live-action "Snow White," which made just $14.2 million in its second weekend. Jason Statham’s latest outlet for kicking butt has helped his box office career total cross an elite milestone. Thanks to the recent release of A Working Man, which hauled in just over $30 million during its first weekend in theaters, Statham’s career total at the global box office now rests at over $8.5 million, which also makes him one of the 100 highest-grossing movie stars ever. A Working Man took the top spot at the box office this weekend with a $15 million domestic opening, unseating Snow White, which fell 66% during its second weekend in theaters. In addition to Jason Statham, A Working Man also stars Michael Peña and David Harbour, and the film was directed by David Ayer. Statham and Ayer previously worked together on The Beekeeper.

Two YouTube channels, which specialise in making fake, AI-generated trailers of major films, have just lost their ad revenue.
The experience of searching for trailers on YouTube could be about to change, as YouTube is said to have turned off monetisation for two of the platform’s major accounts. Collectively, the channels Screen Culture and Kh Studio have a subscriber base of 2m users, and have long specialised in uploading fake trailers for popular movies and TV shows.
Over the past day, Screen Culture uploaded a supposed ‘release trailer’ for A Minecraft Movie, which mixes genuine footage with AI-generated material. Now that Alan Ritchson has given fans of Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels a book-accurate version of the ex-military policeman, the actor's career has really taken off. Playing the hulking protagonist of Prime Video's "Reacher" has catapulted Ritchson to a level of fame that he had seemingly been chasing for some time. The man was 40 years old when he fronted the first season of the popular series in 2022, and while he had been working fairly consistently prior to that, "Reacher" was such a hit that Ritchson suddenly found himself on his way to becoming a household name.
Once his streaming series took off, the 6-foot 3-inch star brought his Jack Reacher muscle to the role of Agency head Aimes in "Fast X," and will soon appear opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in a Christmas comedy. Meanwhile, "Reacher" season 3 is breaking streaming records for Prime Video, cementing Ritchson's status as a bonafide star.

As the show’s titular character, Alan Ritchson has become a household name thanks to his hit Prime Video series, Reacher. Currently in its third season, the show is based on a series of books by Lee Child. It follows a former Army MP named Jack Reacher as he roams the country and occasionally finds himself solving crimes, usually ones involving mass conspiracies and crime bosses. With nothing more than the clothes on his back and a toothbrush in his pocket, Reacher never stays in one place very long. That is unless there’s justice to be served.
Aside from his wildly popular character in Reacher, Ritchson’s other acting credits include major roles in films such as The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Ordinary Angels, and Fast X. However, long before his time as the formidable goliath that is Reacher, Ritchson appeared in the best Hunger Games movie over a decade ago,...

Alan Ritchson’s character, Jack Reacher, the towering ex-military beast, knocks hooligans out with one punch. But crushing villainous characters requires more than physicality on screen.
In Reacher Season 3, Ritchson adamantly decided to brave his stunts without any body double, but who would have thought this 6ft tall butch would get himself knocked unconscious.

Reacher Season 3 has finally aired its finale this Thursday, the culmination of Jack Reacher’s search for justice and resolution for now. The finale scene ultimately pits the two giants, Jack Reacher and Paulie, played by Olivier Richters, in a brief “rag-dolled” battle. This is just a reminder for the audience: Paulie is twice Reacher’s size, and those who have watched the series know what his one punch could do to Reacher.

Jason Statham’s latest action thriller begins playing in theaters everywhere this weekend, but how does it stack up to his other movies? Early previews start today for A Working Man, but enough reviews for the film have come in to give it a 65% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. This comes from 37 reviews at the time of writing, so it is subject to change as more reviews come in over the weekend, but this is still a solid score that falls only slightly below The Beekeeper, which earned a 71% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. However, The Beekeeper netted a strong 92% score from audiences on the aggregate site. If A Working Man is also well-received by audiences, it could become a box office hit similar to The Beekeeper, which grossed over $150 million globally.
A Working Man’s 65% Rotten Tomatoes score falls outside the top 10 on the list of the highest-rated Jason Statham movies.

Vin Diesel took to Instagram to announce that he will direct a new Fast & Furious short film that will set the stage for the franchise’s grand finale. This would actually be Diesel’s second time helming a Fast & Furious short. Back in 2009, Diesel wrote and directed Los Bandoleros, a prequel to the fourth installment of the franchise which explained what Dominic Toretto had been up to since the events of The Fast and the Furious.

“I am reminded of that critical moment in the Fast franchise, where we had just wrapped the fourth film,” Diesel wrote. “The studio asked me to direct the precursor to the film, to explain where Dom had been in between the first and the fourth film. Fast X: Part 2 concludes a decades-long Fast & Furious saga that has taken fans on several twists and turns, some more outlandish than others. Before the Vin Diesel-led action franchise runs its final lap, the acclaimed actor is set to steer fans through one last tease.
Via Instagram, Diesel confirmed he's directing a "precursor" to Part 2, further ramping up anticipation for the Fast & Furious finale. Though Diesel kept details about the short close to the vest, he teased that the short would be filmed in an "exotic" location. Having done a short in the lead up to 2009's Fast & Furious at the behest of Universal Pictures, Diesel confirmed that "the request has come in again for me to direct the precursor, to the finale. Because it is now the world's saga, I am encouraged to film somewhere else, truly exotic…"

The Fast and Furious franchise has taken more twists and turns than perhaps any other series, and now we can add another to the mix, as ahead of the 2026 release of Fast X: Part 2, star Vin Diesel is teasing a possible "precursor" to the finale. Beginning in 2001, the Fast and Furious saga has stretched across a multitude of mediums, including feature films, spin-offs, TV shows, video games, and short films.
Taking to his Instagram account, Diesel references one of those short films in a new post that hints there's another chapter in the long-running series to go before we get to the grand finale next year. Fans will recall that 2009's Los Bandoleros – which Diesel directed – was included as part of the Blu-ray special features on Fast & Furious (a.k.a. Fast and Furious 4) and helped fill in the gaps between the first and fourth movies. Now...

A new report about The Mandalorian & Grogu reveals its budget, and while it costs more than a lot of movies, it is certainly cheap by Disney Star Wars standards. The cost of movie tickets has certainly been on people's minds for years, but the price to make movies seemingly has gone up. 2023 saw three films join the ranks of the most expensive movies ever made. Now, in 2025, Netflix's The Electric State and Apple's F1 will be added to that list. While Star Wars is one of the biggest franchises around, it sounds like the next entry is being budgeted responsibly.
According to Collider, The Mandalorian & Grogu reportedly has a budget of $166.4 million, based on a report from the California Film Commission. The latest entry in the Star Wars franchise was the recipient of a bountiful tax credit from the state of California to the tune of $21.75 million.

While it once seemed improbable, it looks like Coyote vs. Acme may soon be coming to a theater near you!
According to Deadline, Ketchup Entertainment is in advanced negotiations to acquire the animated/live-action hybrid feature from Warner Bros, in a deal that's estimated to be in the $50 million range. In recent years, Ketchup has also been behind the releases of Weekend in Taipei, Goodrich, Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Memory, Ferrari, Hypnotic, and Bushwick.
The trade does note that the deal could still fall apart, but things are progressing in the right direction for now. If/when the deal is finalized, expect to see Coyote vs. Acme hit theaters sometime in 2026.

For any low-paid thug or arrogant hot head that doesn't mind their manners, Alan Ritchson can look pretty scary and has done so for three seasons of "Reacher" so far (read our review of "Reacher" season 3 right here). What's surprising is that the tower of heroism that regularly thumps bad guys was pretty scared himself to take on the role. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about his journey to tackling the hero, Ritchson revealed the pressure he felt when auditioning for the part and the legacy that came with it. By that point, author Lee Child's hero was still thriving on bookshelves but not so much in the efforts of adapting him to the screen. Tom Cruise, for all his star power, couldn't make Reacher the big-screen blockbuster franchise he was setting out to make (Childs has since agreed that Cruise wasn't the right choice), so anyone picking up the...

James Gunn recently reiterated that Robert Pattinson would not be the Dcu’s Batman and the upcoming The Brave and the Bold film would be looking for a new actor to fill the cape and cowl. It’s been almost two years since Vin Diesel and his family were last seen on screen in Fast X, and while it has been confirmed that one more installment is coming to close out the saga, its road to theaters has been long and winding. Still lacking an official release date, Fast X: Part 2 has yet to enter production, but Diesel just took to his personal Instagram to drop a major update on the future of the franchise. Diesel revealed that Fast X: Part 2 will finally begin filming this summer in Los Angeles, and while he doesn’t mention anything about a potential release date, its most likely window will certainly come in the latter half of 2026, if not even early in 2027.

Vin Diesel is ready to make "the testosterone-male answer to Barbie." The actor recently offered an update on his long-gestating Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots movie, which he claims will be as successful as Warner Bros.' 2023 box office hit Barbie, also based on a Mattel toy.
In a lengthy Instagram post, which featured brief updates on several projects Diesel is involved in, like The Last Witch Hunter 2, the actor wrote, "Mattel, one of my favorite companies, is getting close to launching the testosterone-male answer to Barbie with Rock ‘em Sock ‘em!" Diesel's wording suggests that the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots movie, which was first announced in 2021, is close to receiving a production start date. The actor's update comes less than a month after he last teased Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots on his Instagram. In February 2025, he shared a photo of the red and blue robots along with the caption,...

While Vin Diesel can rest easy on the Fast & Furious franchise alone, the gravely-voiced, muscular star is looking ahead to other projects while Fast X – Part 2 looks to cap off the long-running series. Diesel took to his Instagram this morning to update his followers after attending the Oscars. The Oscars would start their broadcast with a loving tribute to Los Angeles following the devastating wildfires that surged throughout the residential areas. The montage of movie clips showcasing the city featured a snippet of Furious 7 and Diesel gave recognition in his post, “By the way, shout out to the Oscars for starting their whole show with a clip from Fast Seven…”
Diesel would use his latest post to run down the gamut of projects that he’s been developing. The Fast X star posted, “One day after the Oscars and I was back to work early… helping my friends...

Despite being one of the most profitable franchises in Hollywood, Fast & Furious continues to be a regular subject of tabloid headlines for its ridiculous scandals and controversies. One of the biggest headline-grabbers has been the feud between co-stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, which muddied the waters and made for an entertaining public spectacle until the latter’s return in 2023.

However, before the aforementioned feud between Diesel and The Rock or Tyrese Gibson’s accusations of colorism in Hollywood, a behind-the-scenes incident led to Fast & Furious getting one of its funniest and most beloved characters in the form of Ludacris.

Spoiler Alert: Don't get stung — this article contains signposted spoilers for The Beekeeper.
Some buzzy news for your Friday morning! Following the global box office success of last year's David Ayer and Jason Statham action thriller The Beekeeper, The Stath's assassin-turned-apiarist-turned-assassin-again Adam Clay is set to make a busy (probably murderous) bee of himself once again in Miramax's The Beekeeper 2. And what's more, per Deadline's reporting, Indonesian action filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto is making a beeline for the director's hotseat and will be the man calling the shots on the upcoming sequel.
We know vanishingly little about what The Beekeeper 2, penned by the first movie's scribe Kurt Wimmer, will entail at this point, but we do know that cameras are due to start rolling on the sequel — which is sure to have a, er, sting in its tale — before the year is through. And while Ayer won't be at the helm for the follow-up,...
