| A sequel with no soul
I watch the original gilmore girls at least once a year since it first came out. Watching the original show gives me this fuzzy warm feeling with the extra satisfaction of all the quirks and wits (embodied as those cultural references and fast paced dialogues). At the centre of the original show, it was this big warm fuzzy love and growth that gravitate each every character and plot.

This Netflix sequel, I am afraid to say, gets everything backwards and upside down. It's like watching a tiresome dialogic pointless marathon with no soul whatsoever. I can't even plough through the whole four episodes at one go. I had to watch one episode/ with fast forwarding all the pointless dialogue(and sometimes, even plots)--cleanse my palate--and brace myself for the next. And it's the same person who can watch the original GG as long as humanely possible, no fast forward even I can recite most of the dialogue by heart!

I even skipped one of the most important scenes about Lorelai, when she called Emily (no spoiler, but if you watched, you'd know the scene). It is just so scripted that I can't even...

The only good point (And I mean 'ONLY' literally), in my opinion, is Emily's storyline. There, we saw love and growth, which has disappeared in all the other main characters in the sequel.

Luckily, we have 7 seasons of good GG (comparing to the sequel, the last two seasons are like GOLD), and only 4 disappointing episodes that go nowhere.

So, I will just forget about this year ever happened, and keep the GG as how it was and it should be.
