Inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris, and the most daring rescue mission ever attempted.
It's not mentioned or shown in the movie, but the Israelis destroyed a number of Ugandan MiGs on the ground of Entebbe airport, to keep the aircraft from being used against them, and as part of an agreement with the Kenyan government in exchange for allowing the raid aircraft to refuel in Kenya.
If your government does not cooperate, I will kill two children every twenty-four hours.
The Israeli commandos use brushes to paint the brown Mercedes black. In subsequent scenes their black Mercedes has a shiny, factory finish.
